Just something to stir the pot a bit. Personally, I'll take our coach but I fully acknowledge that if I were an outsider to all 3 teams I wouldn't be super-impressed with our hire and would probably pick Steve Campbell.

South non-conference
Lousiana Tech
@Oklahoma State
@ Memphis
Alabama State

Georgia Southern non-conference
South Carolina State
@ Clemson
UMass
@ NMSU

Cajuns non-conference
Grambling State
@ Miss State
@ Alabama
NMSU
That's a tough one. I think Steve Campbell will have a much better team than Chad Lunsford, but South will likely go 1-3 OOC, where GS will likely go 3-1. Records could be similar for that reason.
We have the most favorable OOC schedule. While Lunsford is definitely a better looking hire to us than to our conference mates, I feel like we're going to be the most improved of the three in the coaching dept. That's why I'm going with the homer vote.

Lunsford also isn’t brand new like the others. Lunsford was head coach for 6 games for the Eagles last year.
....not sure if UMass and NMSU are cupcakes as ppl here believe.
I was very impressed with the success Steve Campbell had when he was at UCA (29-6 conference record with a southland title last season with back to back second round appearances in the fcs playoffs) and when you consider according to USA TAODAY listed their $12.6 million athletic budget #191 out 230 college programs, that makes his success there all the more impressive

Very curious to see how he’ll fare in the Belt

How? We could've hired random people off the street and still will have the most improved coaching staff in the nation. I really don't think people understand how bad Summers and staff were at coaching, training, preparing, and recruiting. It was a total $#!^ show. GS wins 4 games and it will be 100% improvement on record. So we win 6+ it'll be a lock for most improved coaching staff. Even if the Cajuns win out and go onto win the Access Bowl, GS will still have a more improved staff. That is just how far we sank.
I said Lunsford only because he has a huge, YUGE head start on the other two. He already knows every single player. He already has years of relationships built up with most of the staff he brought in, and he's been in at Georgia Southern for a decade and understands what works and what doesn't here. The players and the fans have already seen the turn around under his leadership and are completely bought in.

If ever there was any new coach in the Sun Belt more ready to come out of the gates swinging, it's Coach Lunsford.

Especially considering he’s already “swung” for 6 games last year.
