The Flashes begin the most important four game stretch of the season in Athens tonight against the Bobcats. Like the Zips, the Bobcats have hit quite a wall this season. Ohio, which I believe is their preferred name, enters with an overall record of 11-15 and a 4-10 conference mark.

On paper, this is one the Flashes should win. The Convo, however, is not paper. I have always enjoyed watching ballgames at that venue be it on TV or in person. For a while, you couldn't find a better student section then the OZone.

Lets hope the good guys bring it!
big game tonite. we win at ohio, we're back on track.

rest of our games (incl. mac tournament) in NE Ohio.

go flashes!!04-rock04-rock
Any comments on how empty the convo is? Or do we only bring up OU attendance if it can bash Kent?
Pretty annoying that the OU announcers have taken issue with De La Rosa kicking the shoe off the court. Hey morons, it's a safety issue.
Dartis' shoe came off a couple times in the first half. I'm guessing it's because he's a Jr and shoe tying is a Sr level course at OU.
I just wonder how we became such bad defensive team. We are always in poor position, trying to guard from the rear. Giving up 49 points at the half is not Kent State BB. Come on Rob, this is on you.

We don't really have any length on the perimeter.
First, the Convo is more than twice the size of our building, so a crowd of 5,000 is going to look small. Second, they had almost 1,000 more people for their rivalry game as we did for ours. Third, who really cares what OU does or doesn't do with their attendance.

Fourth, our defense can feel free to anchor in anytime.
We're a really frustrating team... AD is having his way inside and they're not doubling him. So we put Peterson on the wing outside of where he's working. Naturally his man has no issue leaving him to double. Gotta understand our own personel better than that.

What does length have to do with being two steps behind and being beaten down the floor?

The longer a players wingspan the easier it is to prevent someone from dribbling by you. Plus if you're smaller that your opponent you have to play closer to effectively challenge jumpers. Playing closer makes it easier to get beat off the dribble as well.

Oh, you're talking about transition defense. Sorry, misunderstood.
These officials are terrible, and I seldom complain about refs. The announcers suck also. I must be in a bad mood.
Nice come back only to lose it again
Goodnight Golden Flashes.
We need to string some stops together now or it's over.
Sick, absolutely sick. This team is not playing to its ability
Being two games below .500 and losing by double digits to this Ohio team... This might be the low watermark of the last 20 years.
Totally painful to watch this tonight, especially to the SnobCats. Ugh.
I love Walker's effort, but he seems to panic-shoot when we're down by more than 1 or 2 possessions. He forced a lot of jumpers tonight particularly when we were in danger of losing touch...and it really helped us lose touch. I also think we need to do a better job of drawing up plays for him. Look, he's going to get his shots up, we all know that. So might as well run sets designed to get him space and improve those looks.
