Senderoff and staff need to get better players.
a little perspective. The win at home over a lackluster Akron team snapped a four game losing streak. Although the win gave some fans, myself included, a little juice this remains a team with a young front line, little depth and undersized guards. Muskrat...I agree with you.

As noted - tough basketball to watch. I don't know if it has been on players or coaches. I for one had high expectations after last year. Losses to bad teams and teams depleted by injuries and transfers are tough to take. I know some have issues with Elton A - but his criticism/skepticism is warranted until we get our facilities and program back to where they should be. A 0.500 record (or worse at this point) in a weak MAC isn't where any of us want to be.
Yes maybe Elton wasn’t looking at the mathematics but more so how the team plays. When all your doing is trying to get into 4th place in a league where the difference between 4 and 9 is minimal obviously going 3-1 or 4-0 will get you there. I guess Elton was saying the odds of us doing that were pretty slim. He was right.
I really hated saying that!!!
Based on the standings it will most likely be a 1st round home game against CMU, NIU, Ohio or Akron. We would have to work hard to end up ninth.
I don't know. Bowling Green punked the Flashes at the Stroh Center, Miami did the same at Millet and Akron gave KSU heck on the parque floor. Fingers crossed. By the way, what would a ticket to the first round home game cost IF it were Kent vs. Akron?
listened to tho ohio broadcast last night.. had some interesting observations

said that we have some nice pieces, but we are not gelling

said our body language looked horrible (after letting ohio go on a run when we had cut the lead down to 2.)

said the refs were horrible (on both sides)

my take:
jaywalk had an off shooting night. if he has a normal shooting night, we win (or at least go to the wire / close game.)

If we don’t hold on to at least eighth it will certainly be our lowest point in 20 years. Your probably right though. Nothings a sure thing this year.

I was telling my friend that Kent could win the remaining 4 games or lose them all. or any combination in between. I has been a very inconsistent season so far. no reason to think that is going to change now.
I can generally tell you the score of most KSU basketball games before they start.
Last time Kent State men's basketball team was under .500 1997-98
.500 was 2013-14 16-16
Will this year break the streak of under .500 wins?????
13-15; 7-8

BUGS - W
MIA - W
@ AKR - L

TBA MAC Tourney at home Monday - W
TBA MAC Quarter at CLE - L

16-17. Yikes.
Roundball4me, that 1997-98 team, Water's second, was ultimately better than this one. They won 8 of their last 14 regular season games, finished the MAC season in a tie for second in the East, beat top-seed Akron at Akron in the first round of the tournament, and only lost to Miami by 5 in the semi's despite that year's best player, Kyreem Massey being suspended for punching an Akron player. That team was loaded with talent that was just beginning to get it together with Waters' system. You really have to go back 21 years to the 1996/97, Waters' first, when he had plenty of Grube players not suited for what Waters wanted to do.

Good memory you have! I'd agree with it all but I was thinking Ed Norvell was the best player on that squad. No?
Yeah, he probably was. I should have said that Massey was their top scorer, not their best player.
