Figured I'd go ahead and start a thread for this as there's already been some posturing from both fan bases in other threads.

My prediction: Marshall get's devoured by the lionshark. Deadliest creature in existence and has become this teams spirit animal.

I'll take ODU by 15. You guys are playing quality ball right now.

We are, but 90% of it is confidence. Someone like Marshall could start on fire and we start missing a few, it could be tough to get out of a hole if we get rattled. Praying we haven't peaked too soon and can keep the lightning in the bottle for 4-6 more weeks. The defense will be there regardless, but the falling shots are the difference between a top 100-type team and a top 25-type team. Going to be tough to win a CUSA top 4 game if it turns into a rock fight. Both of our losses so far were rock fights.

That's my fear as well. We are clearly peaking now.

This is one of the tougher road swings with WKU and Marshall. All I can say is the Marshall fans better hope their team is as confident as they are. They have penned in a win based on being home and not having the excuses made from last game.. yet. If they don't play defense as usual this one won't be too tough. Just have to hope our team takes it one game at a time and not look ahead to the bigger game at WKU

Marshall almost won in Norfolk without their best player. ODU is playing better now, but being on the road is tough. I expect a battle and what should be one of the best, most even games of the season. I’m certainly not confident of getting a win, but I’d be very happy to get it.

That's pretty close to what I was thinking. We'll take our starters out around 8 minutes left with a 30 point lead then the freshman put on a shooting clinic.

The majority of the ones I’ve talked to are concerned about this one.

ODU fans are some thin skinned suckers. If you call what I said as smack then you need to learn what real smack is. I never guaranteed a win nor did I talk down to ODU.
I simply stated the fact that both Jon Elmore and Jarrod West played with the flu in Norfolk and that Ajdin Penava didn't play in the game due to an injury suffered the previous week. Here is my quote from the thread "2018 CUSA Tournament Bracket".

I'll preview the Friday excuses now...

- Not fair to play with people who didn't play the last we met.
- ODU wasn't mentally prepared because they thought it would be like the last time we played.
- Marshall should beat us since we won't have any CUSA First Teamers here at ODU.
- Playing on the road is hard.
- Wanted to set World Record for most incorrect prediction.
- ODU was overconfident after that big win against UTEP.
- Not ODU's fault that Marshall and WKU have to play MTSU and UAB twice every year and ODU only has that slate once.
- Didn't realize Marshall had more NBA #1 Overall Draft Picks than us.
- Just wait until Fresno... (because we know we're the easiest semifinal out and won't have to play Marshall again).

Hope the Herd thunders Thursday night!

I was thinking more like:

-Elmore was injured practicing his flops in the pregame shoot around
-Peneva was detained by ICE prior to the game
-The refs in this league suck
-Something about the game pace we play
-Dantoni failed to properly gameplan because he was binge watching old Miami Vice episodes
-The refs suck
-We weren't shooting well (nothing to do with your defense)
-Have I mentioned the refs?
