ECU and West Virginina signed a long term H&H right before conference realignment started. Since then WVU has canceled 4 games out right and moved back the @ECU game until 2026. They canceled the latest game to play an FCS team. I'm doubting the 2026 game ever gets played now. Not happy with this cartel scheduling crap. The AAC is getting the squeeze.
Meh, I'm not a fan of the games with WVU...There are a bunch of other schools that I would prefer to schedule.

I'd rather put WFU and/or Dook back on the schedule than WVU.

Sure, if Duke would play, fine. But there were a lot of home games on the books with both West Virginia and South Carolina and now they are gone.—I fully expect WVU to cancel the 2026 game.
Prepare for ECU OOC schools to change from 3 P5 schools like ACC, ACC, WV, plus an FCS home game to look like this in the future:
App St
Charlotte
Old Dominion
BYU/Liberty/Marshall

I liked the days of 3 or 4 Cartel schools OOC. That was the norm.
Dana Holgersen is strongly against playing ECU and his comments about ECU make that clear.
I feel yalls pain in a way. We had a H&H scheduled with Tennessee back in 2008 for 2015 and 2016 seasons but they postponed it and I haven't heard anything since...

You really can't blame him after what ECU has done to WVU.
Dana Holgorsen says his players are starving to death because of Marshall and ECU

Only ECU won't be getting WF and Duke. Instead it will be FCS schools like A&T,Central,Western, etc. There is no reason a school in as close of proximity as WVU should be cancelling a home and home with ECU.

If you want to feel better about it though, just tell yourself WVU is cancelling the games due to ECU's impending Big12 invite.
I would love to start up a series with Wake Forest. My dad is a big Wake guy... has PSL's and all that. Would be a neat, fun series to restart.

BUT their OOC schedule is booked for a while - including some games vs UNC that don't count as ACC games, which is BS.

2018
@ Tulane
Towson
Notre Dame
Rice

2019
Utah State
@ Rice
UNC (Non-ACC)
Elon

2020
Tulane
App State
@ ODU
Notre Dame (Charlotte)

2021
ODU
NIU
@ UNC (Non-ACC)
@ Army

2022
@ Vanderbilt
Liberty
Army
Air Force

2023 (2 spots open)
Vanderbilt
@ Notre Dame

2024 (2 spots open)
Ole Miss
@ Army

2025 (1 spot open)
@ Liberty
@ Ole Miss
Army

2026 (1 spot open)
Liberty
@ Purdue
@ Army

Then it opens way up from 2027-on.
Wake Forest and Miami both went to Boone and played App and yet here our fanbase is thinking we're above it while we let West Virginia and South Carolina piss all over us.

I'm in the "F*ck Them" boat. I'd take good, competitive, fun atmospheres with Southern Miss, Marshall, App, and UNCC before giving a damn about playing West Virginia at this point. I'm over it.

I genuinely, honestly do not care to drive to Columbia and Morgantown to see ECU play them anymore if their happy asses aren't making a trip to Greenville. WE DO NOT NEED THEM

WVU can't just "move back the ECU game". There are things called contracts. If it was moved back, it is because ECU agreed upon and signed a new contract, which moved a game with WVU to 2026. No school can just move games around willy nilly, like pieces on a chess board without breaking contracts.

I like playing them. We don't have much of a history with Duke. Would really like to continue scheduling with VT, WVU, and South Carolina.

Nice nitpicking man. Yeah, WVU wanted it moved back and it was moved back. I bet it never gets played. The same thing will happen to your 15 year old newbie school with NCSU. Since you were being a jerk I’ll be one right back son.

I remember ECU cancelled on Cuse 9 months out...what goes around comes around.

And what year was that? Let’s explain the circumstances.
The great freeze out begins. ECU was scheduling West Virginia, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, North Carolina, and NC State.

ECU still has Virginia Tech but the athletic director stated something like, "The Hokies play ECU more than many conference teams. Is this the correct way to schedule a conference?"

I suspect that ECU will still play UNC and NC State every once in a while but the other games may become more challenging to get home games.

Yep. The freeze out, the squeeze...whatever you want to call it is happening. That P6 crap is backfiring. It threatened the cartel so they won’t play us. Old Dominion, Charlotte, App st?
Houston’s scheduling of Georgia St, UTSA and Boise?
I see a trend. A terrible trend.

Memphis is in the middle of a HH with ULM and has future HHs with South Alabama, Georgia State, UTSA, and UNT. We also have HHs with Arkansas State which is OK since we have history with them and Jonesboro is only an hr from Memphis.

But what I don't understand is why Memphis doesn't schedule an old rival like USM or try to get a good program like SDSU on the schedule.

^ This! ECU's problem is we have a pushover for an athletic director.

Right now, I am not seeing UNC moving towards renewing since it is down to it's last game in the contract. I have a bad feeling that may happen with NCSU when the new AD is hired since past history shows the games have been renewed by now and it appears Yow is not inclined to do this since she basically has the schedule locked up to 2025. These are games that are good for the fans and the state but I have a feeling that no longer matters. And yes, I admit ECU has had the upper hand in the past games. 04-cheers

I was looking at Memphis future OOC a while back and thought wow that is awful. Is Memphis having difficulty scheduling OOC or just a new scheduling philosophy. Next year you only have one good OOC game and that is Missouri but it is on the road. Your home OOC is god awful. Memphis does not have a good game until UCF comes to town. Hopefully both of you will be ranked around Top 15 at the time because the AAC needs one of you to get the Access Bowl again.

As for WVU ? I would not let them keep kicking our home game down the road. WVU has a lot of alumni in North Carolina and in Myrtle Beach so they usually bring a good crowd to Ficklen. If they don't want to come to Ficklen then just pay us and cancel the series.
