Rockets placed Troy Williams on waivers today, league source says, opening roster spot for Joe Johnson signing. Williams enters free agency.
Troy Williams was a tough cut for the Grizz last year. We have an open roster spot, so have to think the Grizz would be interested. Would be ironic if we got Troy back because Houston cut him to sign waived vets, one being Brandon Wright.
Waiver claims are in reverse order of standings. 6 teams tied with 18 wins, but Grizz have the fewest losses of these 6 teams, so guess we would be 6th in line for a waiver claim.
I'll take Michael Porter Jr instead

That's the draft. This is just a waiver claim to get Troy back now. Troy made our 15 man roster out of camp last year. Then, we cut him to sign Toney Douglass when we needed a point guard. Lot of Grizz nation were irate when the FO did that. Houston grabbed him and gave him a 3 year contract last summer.
Maybe there is a reason he can’t stick anywhere?
Agree. We’re already developing young talent. Good luck Troy but we’re already struggling. It’s painful to watch the Grizz battle their hearts out against Gods OKC team and come up a bit short. This season has just been agony.

Houston said they were waiving him, then reversed course, then decided again to waive him. Joe Johnson took his spot and played last night.

Agree it was confusing. Houston didn't want to cut him, but the Rockets think they have a chance this year so they are stocking up. I think they considered cutting Tarik, since they now have 3 centers after adding Brandan.
Really hope the Grizz get him back. A very athletic 2, good defender. Was averaging 20 & 6 in the G-league. He's better than Mario or McLemore. But we don't have to cut anyone to add him.
