If you want to host a tournament game, this one is a must. Can the Huskies build on the Buffalo win?

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the team will respond with a solid win tonight. The Buffalo game will do wonders for the overall confidence of the team.

Go Huskies!
Huskies must not give up 10 or more threes and need to find a way to make seven themselves. Saturday was an extreme high for the team hoping they still have some energy left. I believe NIU is the better team so thinking they win this game. Off to Fattys for pre-game drinks!
NIU 72
CMU 67

Another solid game by Justin Thomas.
They've been good at home.

NIU 70
CMU 64
Look at how optimistic we are after a win!

Yea, welcome to the bi-polar board.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe 350 fans?
Up 1 with less than 4 left.

19 for German .

CMU scoring inside whenever they please.
Those officials were god awful but almost 20 turnovers and getting outrebounded didn't help either
Same old story. Tied with 3:00 left then lose by 8.
CMU's athleticism & size > than NIU's.
Huskies shot well but now that offense isn’t a issue defense is. We are a bottom four road team for the MAC tourney. At the end of season NIU will have to fire Monty and except German or any other players leaving. The buffalo came is nothing at this point. Huskies have lost 2 of 3 at home. Tonight we had four guys in double figures and a 3pt team shooting bad from 3 and still lost. NIU will owe Monty 600k but likely he can get a 150k assistant power conference job so NIU would only owe him 150k next year and the year after. Monty has brought the program to competitive and respectable in the MAC but it doesn’t appear he can take it further.

I doubt they'll do it but they should. Take some of the FSU money if there is any to spare and reboot again. SF has yet to make any sort of big splash as far as firing/hiring goes. He's really done nothing in that department and when he has, it's largely been under the radar stuff for non-revenue sports. Monty can go back to being a B1G assistant and we'll try to get someone that is motivated to quickly take a program to the next level.

Agree that they should but also doubt they can afford it.
As far as firing / hiring goes, when you say "it's largely been under the radar stuff for non-revenue sports," curious as to what SF actually did? If you exclude women's basketball, what hire even registered on the radar or created a ripple?

Actually the basketballs biggest issue is the team doesn't have a big man. Our rebounding is HORRIBLE and we do not box out well at all.

The refs also were pretty bad with calling every ticky tack foul, but there were plenty of real fouls that were real dumb too.

The team does have big men. They just aren't good enough. Hamilton isn't good enough to get playing time on this team.

The officiating was brutal, but it didn't with the lack of offensive rebounding (you hit it on the head), it didn't matter.

When you look at the shooting percentage stats from last night, you'd think NIU won in a blowout.

Time for Monty to move on. The program is one step below respectable (on the court). Things have stagnated. It is time.
STF still hasn't hired a womens soccer coach and they just signed 5 or 6 recruits.
Not sure how many caught Monty’s postgame show but on multiple occasions this year he has brought up “following the scouting report”.

My concern is that this team is still playing renegade style ball. Maybe it’s *gulp* the youth on this team or the “culture” of this program is to just do your own thing on the court?

You can hear the frustration in Monty’s voice. Perhaps they are just putting together crap scouting reports. I’m still very suspect of Monty’s staff and the message they are sending to players.

Official attendance was 799.

Maybe they need to play more OOC games at the big P5 schools to fill the BB cash register!
