I like the honesty. I don’t think we lose him to a team outside the power 5 or a couple of other schools like Memphis.
Lots to like in that interview. Thanks for the link.

I think the final answer goes a long way in explaining what makes Forbes successful:

Q: OK, last one. What’s your favorite part of coaching?
A: Practice. Not even close. I hate the games. I love practice. I’m always excited to practice. I like the day-to-day of it, the planning of it, the interaction with the players, challenging the players and myself.
I don't think he'll leave for just any job, but it still makes me nervous.
No sense in worrying about it. Just enjoy the ride fellas.
Can’t have your cake and eat it, too! Forbes for the win!

It shows. Watching Coach Forbes' open practices have been some of the most fun and impressive parts of his stay here.
Would be interesting to see the plan Scott Carter has in place for the day Coach Forbes moves on. He has to be developing a list and checking it twice a day in order to be ready. Any inside info on this?

I'm pretty sure I saw Sander (from a distance) at the Chatt game. I would hope Sander can be, when the time is necessary, a little angel whispering in Carter's ear. That could make all the difference in the world. And for that matter, we *seem* to have a couple of good assistant bench coaches already on that bench - were Forbes to not take them with him.

But gosh..........let's just not think that far ahead.....

I am hoping Scott has a plan to retain Coach Forbes. If he can get him the money he deserves then it would be a win/win for Buc fans and for Coach.
Sander has alot to do with this still, trust me

That is my info, too; just didn't want to blatantly say that unless others knew it as well.

How bizarre of a universe would it be if, in the (very) long run.........we end up thanking mullins for getting Sander here? Well, I mean, technically, we are thankful for that already. But I wonder, will the pathway have ultimately justified the 10-year purgatory? Probably impossible to say.
No way it's worth 10 years of hell.

**IF** we use this time frame as a springboard to becoming a Wichita St., Gonzaga, VCU, or similar, then *maybe* 10-20 years down the road it will have been worthwhile. But that doesn't mean it couldn't have been done without those 10 years of hell.
He seems pretty straightforward on the post-game show on the radio coverage, too. We got a good 'un!
Ole Miss will have a vacancy at season's end. Surely they'll make a run at Forbes, no?

That article shows the problem with taking these jobs. The coach does one of the best jobs of anyone in the SEC during his tenure and he is fired because he cant compete with Kentucky or Florida. Forbes would have a hard time passing it up just due to the money, but he would also likely be fired prior to his desired retirement age. Does he want legacy or money?

Yes, I would think so.

Yes, I would think so.

I would think so as well. They are a power 5 with money, but they are not the best bball school. Now for the waiting game.
Auburn will probably have an opening after the season. Wouldn't that be interesting?
Why will Auburn have an opening?
