Buried in the article Trump’s border wall prototypes virtually impassable, pass rigorous testing on FOX News is a short paragraph that explains exactly why both Democrats and Republicans reject deporting illegals.

Quote:This provision, however, is a deal-killer for Democrats because it cuts off money and jobs for existing illegal immigrant families. It’s also a deal-killer for the GOP because agribusiness, meatpackers, restaurants and hotels say they would suffer massive job losses if their illegal workers were forced to have their identities checked through a homeland security database.

Understand the net effect here is really the same regardless of either party's reason, and that is the illegal immigrant is exploited for cheap labor. Period.

Both Republicans and Democrats are perfectly willing for illegals to remain because they are a means to bypass minimum wage/living wage requirements.

Both parties use these people.

We often hear that Americans won't do the jobs illegals do. Well, that's true to a degree. Americans won't do those job for pittance wages. If illegals were gone and industry had to address the resulting labor shortage they would have to increase their wages to attract applicants.

Politicians will use flowery rhetoric to paint a picture, but in the end -- the bottom line is they want to keep cheap labor here to benefit their voting blocks.

The loser is the Average Joe.
So the employers know they are using bogus SSNs? LOL.

Everyone involved knows exactly what they're doing.

And they don't care. That's why nothing changes.

It's up to us to force our elected officials to change.

They aren't worried about job losses because they already have a transient workforce as it is. Illegals rarely stay in one place very long lest they become easier for ICE to find.

What they are really worried about is having to pay more than slave wages to legal employees. An illegal isn't going to complain to authorities when they get paid less than minimum wage because they fear deportation. A legal worker will.

Right. The average consumer knows how much they pay for lettuce. They have no idea about the hidden costs of illegal immigration. How much of their taxes go towards illegal immigrant health care or how much of their auto insurance rate is due to uninsured illegal alien drivers. How much are e paying to house illegal aliens in prisons. These types of costs are completely unknown factors for the average consumer. I dont know what they are either--but my sense is the economic advantage to our economy is probably significantly less than folks think.
