Its not Trump, its the Democrats (not that the independents are real fond of him either).

"Trump’s problem is not with Republicans, 83 percent of whom approved of the job he did during his first year, which is in line with support for George H.W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, and Richard Nixon. But Trump had historically low support from Democrats: Only 8 percent approved of him, far short of the average 44 percent approval presidents received from the opposition party in the previous 60-plus years. Among independents, 34 percent approved of the job Trump is doing."
So, 66% of independants and 92% of democrats hate:

1. Lower taxes
2. job growth
3. A booming economy
4. A stock market through the roof
5. African american unemployment at historic lows
6. 2 million fewer people on food stamps

But he said "ShitHole!"
Once the Q1 and Q2 numbers for GDP growth are in - along with the unemployment and job growth statistics - we'll get a better idea of how much support Trump truly has. If the economy hums from now thru October - the Dems will NOT win the house or senate. Also, Trump's popularity improves significantly and he increases his odds of winning reelection.

It's The Economy, Stupid...
The cuckoos are highly motivated. If most people are happy with the economy andbok with Trump, it still doesn't mean they'll get off their butts and go vote to maintain their increased economic opportunities.

TDS has turned the left into rabid, foaming at the mouth (literally) zombies. This is just the latest installment (we could pull up hundreds of others), but watch this video and tell me these people are in their right mind.

Screaming profanities and spitting on Infowars' female reporter. Middle-aged men confronting them with hate, just for being there. At 4:30 in the video, we have an emasculated soy boy openly admitting he hates Millie Weaver (who couldn't be nicer) to her face, and only hesitating after he realizes he's on camera. They are absolutely unhinged.

The economy is what it's always been.

Not hate, but they aren't going to be easy to convince that credit should go to Trump for 2-6 at this point. Things were trending up anyway. You can come up with all the caveats you want, but all of that stuff was already happening.

Republicans naturally won't take much convincing because he's their guy. Brain chemistry alone would give him good Republican numbers.
My observation is not special, but it is obvious: the real reason Trump has lower approval among liberals is because Democrats (and many "independents" TBH) just want a nanny state, they want to placate their most fringey base, they want to control your freedoms, and we all know the litany of reasons why.

I don't know, the simplest explanation is often the right one. It's because he's not a Democrat. If he were a democrat doing the same things, dems would love him and republicans would be calling him unpresidential and hoping he gets impeached. Melania would've been torn up and Huckabee would been compared to all sorts of farm animals on this board. We conveniently switch what we like when we are raised to follow a team. Trump supporters were flipping from hating the man to being ready to wash his underwear by the day as the primaries moved on and others were bowing out.

The rest doesn't matter. Do you think Americans aren't really deep enough to consider such things in real time?

Eh, I think it's mostly personal imo. Even if Trump's policies were Bernie-esq proposals that advocated for governmental involvement in all aspects of our lives, much of the left would still hate him because they perceive his values as a 180 from their own. Had his first actions in office been to create legislation for 'gender equal pay' regulations and eliminate all restrictions on abortion, do you still think the SJW crowd would approve of him?

At it's core, people just can't handle the cognitive dissonance. They can't simultaneously dislike him as a person yet admit when they agree with something he does, and that creates an irrational hatred of everything he touches. I think the reverse is true too for what it's worth, there are many Trump supporters who like how he goes about his business as POTUS and will ignore things they dislike because he's their guy.
Saw an article about Miami, Texas. The most Trump town statistically in America.

They don't particularly care for Trump. They cared about Supreme Court justices and repealing the "death tax" that was destroying generational wealth for their families. Thats pretty much it. They still do.

They don't care about tweets, or porn stars, or investigations. They don't care about what the press thinks of, or writes about, Trump. They don't care what protesters on college campuses think. They don't care if he goes to jail, or wins a Nobel prize.

Supreme Court justices and preserving their family land will be what they vote on.

And yet, there are millions in this country who believe that money belongs to the gubmint to redistribute rather than families who earned it to pass down.

The Independent crowd is growing larger everyday. They hate the mudslinger that both sides throw, and downright schoolyard bullying that both sides are. The majority of the people are in the middle ground. Trump is too far to the right which the majority of the people hate. Hillary Clinton is too far left on certain issues, but a far right on the right as a war monger like Dick Cheney. People liked Bernie Sanders more than they liked either Trump and Clinton. The border wall is way too far to the right that is actually against what the majority of this country do not want.

If this were the case Hail to the Chief would be played for President Sanders.
