I love college basketball, no team ever loses, they either win or get hosed by the refs.
Man uab fans are whining tonight. You guys play a pressure style of defense (Louisville style) that doesn't fly anymore in NCAA basketball. We just don't play defense.
As I said in the other thread:

Quote:I realize you guys are hurting after a loss and I don't expect you to be objective about your team any more than I am about mine. BUT we do have quick, athletic guards that are hard to defend without fouling. And we do have a stated strategy of driving to get fouls. We draw more fouls than we commit. We're good at it. That's been the case for most games this season.

Lol at your dumb excuse for upward officials

Not even complaining about the fouls called on UAB. Only one I really take exception to is Lee's 4th foul that should've been a jump ball. It's the lack of fouls called on WKU. Cokely, Lee, and Bryant repeatedly got hammered in the paint with no whistles. Just call it both ways.

Refs like tonight make basketball hard to watch.

UAB averages less fouls per game than WKU. Well, not after tonight we dont

Back when Indiana was good with Bobby Knight coaching, their goal every game was to make more foul shots than the other team attempted. On most nights they would accomplish that.

Fans arguing about the disparity of fouls called are living in a vacuum. They ignore style of play, the offensive and defensive design of each team.

Scootie Bryant is also quick and athletic. He did not shoot a free throw tonight.

Coach Stansbury is always saying that his team should make more free throws than the other team takes. By design our guards drive the lane as much as possible to create havoc and draw fouls. They let the bigs go at each other most of the night, but guard play was the difference, UAB guards was shooting the ball really good tonight but was not attacking the rim
What WKU fans don't seem to understand is it isn't the fouls called against UAB generating the complaints. It is the lack of calls at the other end. Two fouls in the first half verses nine for UAB. After 33 minutes, WKU only had 5 fouls. That is with UAB going frequently to the basket.

Southern Miss shot 34 threes in that game. Not going to be a lot of fouls when one team is only shooting threes. Tonight UAB was going inside, getting hammered and no calls.

Again, complaints not about the UAB fouls. Our players were going inside, getting killed and nothing.

Ill be rewatching the game, I usually mark the calls that didn’t get called ( both ends) and the calls that was wrong. WKU had two missed goal tend calls and the free throw that the ref didn’t let us have. That’s 4-5 point taking away right there. Refs blew things on both ends, but they was allowing a physical type game for they most part

...except they only allowed it on one side. That's pretty clear by the foul disparity

22 to 7 isn't a normal game. It's not like you guys just got a few extra calls for being the home team. Every time we went to the basket: nothing

Wish we hadn't gotten that technical though. Kind of pointless to get with 3 minutes left and leading the game

game should have been played at a neutral site. Wait, wrong school

This game could have had so many turns..... UAB shot the ball really well, especially form 3 while WKU had a horrible night shooting the ball, play this game three more times and the stats will look completely different each time
Good to know how dumb wku fans are
