Good games from Harrison, Burrell, and Obi-Rapu, in addition to the usual suspects.
I don’t blame QJ Peterson for quitting.
Everybody but Reppart got at least 12 minutes.

ETSU assists: 22
VMI assists: 3

We could have shot FTs better; other than that, pretty well-played game.
4,218 in attendance. Not bad at all.
#56 in Kenpom now
Horrid shooting for VMI. Shot airballs on 4 consecutive possessions and might have set a record for airballs in a single game.
Desonta with his 1000 point. Congrats.
Huge game Thursday. If we win at Furman, we win the league.

VMI shot more air balls than any game I can remember, they just aren't good at all.

I don't know how Chick Fil A stays in business giving away so many sandwiches, but whoever thought of that promotion is pretty smart. Fans really got into it tonight. It was good to see the crowd because we had 8-9 football recruits in attendance while on their weekend visit.

Wofford beat Furman tonight. If we can beat them Thursday, that puts 2 games between us.
Wofford beats Furman. We are the only undefeated team left. Still a huge game on Thursday.

Just curious what was the promotion and what did it take for everyone to get a chicken sandwich?

If the opposing team misses two consecutive free throws, everyone in the arena gets a card for a free chicken sandwich. They have done that the past 2 games.
It's a common promotion tactic. I have seen it at several college arenas the past few years. Chick fil A is often the sponsor, but I have seen other companies, too. Don't know if one is a copycat.

Helps keep home team fans rowdy at opponent free throws. Some use the miss two format and others track total visitor misses with tote board or fan chant counts. ...something like six total misses wins chicken.

About 20% of the free chicken cards eventually get cashed in. If you buy soda and fries, they're almost at even money for the food. If you bring a family of four and order meals, etc, they still profit, not to mention the goodwill and advertising.

The first time I saw it done was at the Kentucky game. One of our guys missed two and they gave away twenty thousand cards. Their fans really got into it, and they announced the promotion a few minutes before the game, as well as putting it on all their video boards.

Yes on the advertising. How else can you get a few thousand people chanting your company name as part of a sporting event. LOL Chick-fil-a, Chick-fil-a, Chick-fil-a!

And Chick-fil-a going out of business over a few free sandwiches after each home game? Someone doesn’t understand the cult following that place seems to have. Other than Sunday, their drive thru line almost always has 3-4 cars, usually more.
CHICK-FIL-A!

But back to basketball. I don't think I'm the only one with this view - but this team just *feels* special. Something is different about them.

I obviously didn't mean that literally. I am part of that cult following, due to the quality of their food and how good their customer service is.

To Running_Fool's point, I do think that there is something different about this team, probably because it doesn't have a "go to" person that we can rely on to throw up some garbage shot at the end of a shot clock. Instead, we are playing much better as a team and we have figured out how to win several different ways.

I still think that we can lose against *almost* anyone in the league on a given night and there will be a game or two where we just don't shoot well enough to win- but we also have the potential to win the conference going away if we continue to bring the defense consistently.
Eat more chikin!

Beat Furman on the road and it’s over, baby.
Gotta say I am part of the cult also...especially the store on State of Franklin near the hospital. Darrell runs a great store...Anyway, I think it's a great promotion and the more that can be done to keep the fans involved the better. I agree with some others, I think this team is special this year. Chemistry seems fantastic. I was worried earlier this year about that, but now, I am extremely impressed. They just need to keep their heads on straight and this could be one of the best teams we have had...although, I bet if they keep this up we will have seen the last of Forbes come March...I really hate that.
