In McGrath's 18 years experience at Kansas and Carolina, he couldn't compare anyone to him. That doesn't say he's the best that's ever played here, but it's his type of skill level that's so unique. Elmore will never be that kind of player. But, if he was improving as much as McGrath was saying, he would have been instrumental in shoring up strength and size down low. And the one thing he has that Cacok doesn't, is the ability to step outside and score from even three point range.

CaCock is like Rodman reincarnated

Keatts always compared him to Kenneth Faried. Which is about as close as you can get. Stats and size are very similar.

If i'm not mistaken , Faried had a more polished offensive game. But i could be wrong

Yeah, I would say you're correct. I do believe he got a good amount of his points from Offensive rebounds, but I think he could also score face fronting the rim. Which Cacok hasn't really developed that, yet. Hopefully, that is something that he can add for next year.

IMO he's gotten better this year in terms of that, thus the reason his FG% has dropped, he's taking shot a bit further out.

I've been impressed with his post moves this year. He made a nice hook shot against Northeastern. He's definitely improved his offensive game, but there is more he can to his arsenal. Especially, if he plans on playing in the NBA.

At this point, I'd be kinda shocked if he didn't at least get a decent several tryouts at a minimum. We're talking about a guy that set nearly an untouchable record for FG% as a sophomore, and now as a Junior he's leading the nation in total rebounds and RPG. A national record, and leading the nation in a significant statistical category like that and he's only a junior??? I imagine someone is gonna be paying attention to him if they're not already.

Elmore can shoot the ball, period. It doesn't matter what level you come from, if you can shoot, you can shoot. His greatest obstacle was going hard all the time. If he can play at a high intensity level, his offense isn't a problem.
I could honestly see Cacok getting a look as a tight end in the NFL. He has incredible hands, incredible timing, great speed and endurance and can leap. And at 6'7"and 240 lbs he'd be a handful. I'd like to see him paired up with Cam Newton....

Cam Newton can't hit water if he fell outta a boat. Send him some place that actually has a halfway accurate passer!

But he has great teeth!!03-lmfao
While I agree Cam has a history of over throwing his receivers, that was not the case against the Saints. A good pair of hands would have won that game.

He can shoot but who can he guard would be the question? He is another guy that can't move his feet and that puts him in a zone situation, if he can play that. I don't have a problem with mixing it up but teams know who plays where and what type defense. I would like to see him have an impact but to this point he is an unknown at best.

Since he hasn't played, only the coach knows.

Absolutely. I think he could possibly be a 2nd round pick after next year and will definitely get summer league deal. He'll make money professionally some where

What coach would that be? His high school is the only one who has seen him play defense in a game. Playing in practice against your teammates is not an indicator of how you play in a game in most cases. He was soft in high school but that was about 3 years ago now. Will he play this season ?

I can only go by what McGrath was saying about him before he got hurt. He apparently thought Elmore was going to be a big contributor to the team. He also had Joe Wolf working with him. That sure couldn't hurt. It looks like he may have made Marcus a better player. I don't think he would have improved as much as Cacok did from his freshman to sophomore season, but that doesn't mean he couldn't have improved enough to be a positive factor on this team.
I also think not bringing him back this year will be good for he and the team still having three years left. He needs more maturity.

Don't see where that would be a problem since he never has played or even dressed out the whole season.
Sounds like it would make sense, but who knows with the NCAA
What coach said early on is that the decision would be up to Elmore.

I remember that as well, and to my knowledge he hasn't said one way or the other. May be a good question for B&B to follow up on...
Elmore has a goal to get paid to play ball after college. He's going to redshirt to help reach that goal.
