The Chronicle Wrote:Allen led the Cougars to a season-opening win at Arizona and set a UH single-game record for completion percentage, going 31-of-33 (93.9) against Rice.

But he was plagued by turnovers, committing a combined six in games against Arizona and Texas Tech. His three against Tech on Sept. 23 led to his benching, and he lost the starting job for good the next week to Kyle Postma.

Does this mean QB at Houston is highly suspect? How do UH fans feels?
I guess he just doesn't want to be at school. He didn't tear it up here, why would he cut it in the NFL?

The guy sucked eggs, so why not go for the money and hope you can pull a kellen moore.

Never heard of her.
Ohhhh Cannn-uh-duh!

Maybe he can make it up north.
He's got all the tools. Someone will give him a shot. I'd take a flyer on him with a late round supplemental pick. With the right coaching in the right system--who knows? The vast majority of NFL quarterbacks presently suck. He's a good kid and a hard worker. My guess is Allen ends up on an NFL practice squad somewhere.

Good for you, AC. Seriously.

I hate it when fans come out to rip a kid that bled for their school the minute they decide to declare or transfer. Wish him well and thank him for what he did while he was there.
He has an amazing arm and had some of the nicest throws i haven't seen in awhile. He just made some poor decisions on some of them. i hope he finds a place where he can develop.
If this was our starting QB King, I'd be concerned. Hard to get worried if it's the backup QB. I think we have another backup QB on the roster next year.

Allen may do well in the NFL eventually, but I didn't exactly see why this kid was so highly touted while he was on the field here, but probably because he was supposed to be the reincarnation-only-better of Case Keenum and it wasn't even close. Maybe he's just one of those QB types that needs a great OL to protect him and give him time, and when he has time he's super accurate?

Well, I rarely follow ex-Coogs in the NFL. I only follow the Texans, and they sucked nuts again this past year because of injuries, so it wasn't hard for me to forget about the NFL this year.
Kyle allen has sucked at every level in college yet we are supposed to believe he is nfl quality...

To be fair, at Houston he was a poor fit. He was a passing QB in a run first offense that featured an offensive line that could not run block. Even the more dynamic King couldnt make that offense any better than below average.

In truth, Allen was a little over a .500 QB in the SEC. He was 3-1 at Houston when he got the hook after the Tech game. He wasnt a superstar, but he didnt suck. The tools are there. The decision making was suspect--that may be something he can fix with the right coach. Time will tell.

Ya but the sec play really shows what kind of qb he was, needless to say it was very unimpressive. We coog fans however blew that off by saying it was the competition, and we know how that turned out.

Yup. Bad NFL QBs were studs in college. Bad college QBs dont tend to make good NFL QBs.

Even great college quarterback sometimes don’t get a legit shot in the NFL. Wrong team, system or coach. There is some luck involved right place, right time to flourish. Case Keenum comes to mind for what he is doing in Minnesota
Allen has the arm to make all the throws, but his problem is he throws the ball to the defense too often.

Because he’s a 5 Star.
