Now that we are a few games into the acc season, it appears that UVA is going to do well after this week's whupping on VaTech and dominant win over UNC. I'm sad to see the Cardinals slipping as I have enjoyed their mix in the top of the league since they joined. I am surprised that Notre Dame beat Syracuse today and that Syracuse still has not been able to break into the top of the conference since it joined.

SU's best year in the ACC was its first season 2013-2014. That year SU went 25-0, before they lost their first game, which was SU's best start ever. Then because of some injuries because of a depleted roster ended up losing 4 out of 7 to finish the season 28-4. I believe SU finished the season in the top 3 of the ACC and hasn't sniffed that area since. Duke and SU played a round robin that year that had crazy tv ratings. That was also the year of the suitcoat game, when JB halfway took off his suitcoat during the game in protest of a bad call

I am surprised that Virginia fan doesn't remember no ACC team can beat Syracuse until Virginia finally put a stop on Syracuse very late in season on their first year.

I know Syracuse finished in the top 4 of the conference in their first year but not since then. In my mind I was comparing them to Louisville who has been in the top 4 every single year since they joined the ACC. That first year that Syracuse finished in the top four was without Louisville in the conference and perhaps with UofL in the mix, it made it more difficult not only for Syracuse but for Duke and UNC as well (at least from dominating the conference). I am not trying to diss the Orange. I truly thought they would do better and hope they still do because I like more parity in the conference. For that same reason I hope Louisville rebounds quickly from its coaching turnover. Notre Dame has been a pleasant surprise being in the top 4 twice.
Cuse is down due to NCAA Probation...we lost a ton of scholarships thanks to Oliver Luck

Yes, but you owned up to your mistakes, took your disproportionate punishment and moved on.
UVa consensus #3 in rankings this week courtesy of most other top ten teams losing this past week (and the Cavs impressive wins). 6 others in ACC also making top 25/26. With Duke and UNC having to play each other twice still ahead it seems difficult for either to win the Conference this year unless one of them takes two from the other. Could be interesting race at the end.
Will be interesting to see how the reinstatement of Markell Johnson to NC State's lineup will change their chances.

I don't think you've looked at Duke's conference schedule. Of course, like everyone else Duke has to win some conference games on the road but the conference schedule is ridiculously tilted in Duke's favor this year (as it was ridiculousy tilted against Duke last year).
Virginia gets strong win over wolfpack, still undefeated in ACC but with many roadgames ahead. Duke v Miami monday will be important game.
Hey has anyone notice that during ACC Play Josh Pastner turns into John Wooden at Home..... Crazy I hope we can keep this 3-1 ACC record humming

UVa 6-0 in ACC after another dominating performance, this time on the road.

Big loss for Clemson. Sr. Donte Grantham tore his ACL yesterday. Tough blow for Grantham who was averaging 14.2 and 6.9 a game.

Miami won 86-81 @ NC State and Louisville beat BC 77-69 this afternoon.
Nice job Hokies to beat UNC. Always good to keep the "blue bloods" from getting all the hype.

I felt really badly for Clemson this weekend -- especially this kid. That really really sucks for him.

And losing out on Zion Williamson sucks for them too. That could have really vaulted their hoops program forward a notch, and maybe could have started drawing more fan interest in their hoops program.
Cavaliers 8-0 in ACC. Can't wait for Duke Saturday. So sad for Clemson's loss of their best player - It would have been closer I'm sure.
U.Va at Duke: ACC regular season game of the year? It's normally Duke-UNC but maybe not this year.
Coach Bennett does have UVA rolling right now!!04-cheers
