It was the fourth best in CAA history, the best in the CAA in over 32 years, and tied for the best in the NCAA this season.
Given that Towson also shot over 60% against us, I am very concerned. The banked in 3 from the corner was a bit much.... Northeastern shot 75% early and 75% late as well. Plus, they milked the shot clock to virtually zero. It was the best shooting performance I had seen in 5 days....

And now we get Elon, who will be fired up after blowing a lead late against JMU and then Towson and then you guys. Hope we find something positive on the road.

Overall, Charleston, Towson, Hofstra and Northeastern(not sure what order) look the best to me.

Our contest with W&M has the potential to challenge Loyola Marymount's record for highest combined score.
Meh...defense. We can take it or leave it, unfortunately.

Our defense is improving...look out!
Any chance for the traditional contender/pretender postings for Charleston? I know it is still 6 weeks out, but it is always fun to get Seahawk08's perspective. I think right now there are 7 legitimate contenders, but of course, there is time for that list to change. I'll let you guys make your own determinations. I guess Charleston is the favorite still given all they had coming back and the home court. But, I don't anyone measures up yet to last year's UNCW team in terms of quality. But, maybe a team will in 6 weeks.

Should be an interesting week. Both the Tribe and Northeastern have 2 road games.

Your game Saturday was incredibly entertaining.

I think as of right now I would pick Hoftsra or Charleston to take come the conference title.

Charleston, WM, Hofstra are my odds... in that order.

As strong as UNCW was last season, the championship against Charleston in Charleston was a very tough out.
Having not seen Hofstra or William and Mary I can't make a real case for any team yet.

I've seen one game of each on CAA TV via ROKU. When those two teams are playing top notch ball like they were to open CAA play, it's lethal.

Seahawks are showing they're capable of putting a scare in anyone though. Keep it rolling Hawks!
UNCW is one of my 7 now, but Charleston is still the favorite. I think right now, their best is better than anyone else. But, if 7 teams can legitimately win it, what a CAA tournament it will be.

We'll see. History has shown you pretty much need to be a 1 or a 2-seed to win the tournament. 3 seed....small shot.

This year's tourney MIGHT bust that trend, but I think we'll start to see some separation over the course of the regular season, and the true contenders will show themselves by the time we hit March.

I'll see what I can do! This year has been different because I got engaged back in December; wedding planning and trips to Raleigh (where the fiance lives; working on getting her moved to Wilmington too) have consumed a lot of my time lately!
UNCW may be an x factor in seeding. We have yet to play Hofstra or William and Mary who are both top 2 right now and haven't played. We are a better team than when we started CAA play, so we have a good chance of splitting games with both of them. We also get CofC and Elon at home, and haven't played 9th. place JMU yet.

Really wish we didn't play Delaware twice so early. We should've beaten them at home during our losing streak. I'd imagine we'd take that one if we saw them now.

Agreed. They're not a terrible team, but their other 2 league wins were against Drexel and JMU. Odds are, they're going to struggle the rest of the way. They already got beaten by Charleston by 15, Hofstra by 27, and NU by 12, and their next 8 are 2 games against Towson, 2 against Elon, Charleston, NU, Hofstra, and @ W&M. It would not be surprising if they go somewhere between 0-8 and 2-6 in that stretch.

If we take care of business on Thursday, a match up that we were dreading two weeks ago becomes exciting. Beating W&M and getting back to .500 in league play would be exciting.

Well congratulations! Hopefully she's a Seahawk fan...

She went to Peace College (now Peace University, since going Co-Ed), and doesn't care much for any of the ACC squads really. So there's a nice big void there that will be filled by the Seahawks.

She's come to a few games already, including that road contest against Campbell last season, where she got to see me actually be a fan rather than working at the press table, lol.
