And it will be played in the home of the SEC Championship game in Atlanta no less.

Hey that's stirred some butt hurt around here, heh heh! Seems like all is right with the world to me. BTW: The equipment managers at Alabama need to be informed that the turf inside that stadium is as slippery as ice in some places and they better have a variety of shoes ready if they are going to play. Shame on our equipment manager because we've played there twice already and apparently he hadn't learned that from the first game.
I'm enjoying it because one of my Army buddies I keep up with is the most insufferable Ohio State t-shirt fan/B1G Apologist/SEC hater. All his glorious crying about their awesome meaningless bowl record and now he gets to see an all SEC national title game.

Yes, in the Catholic sense the Big 10 is in Limbo. They are far from Hell, but just outside the gates of Heaven, but with none of the Glory of the Kingdom!
TBH, I was surprised the committee put Bama into the playoff this year. I was sure the stain of the LSU/Bama debacle would have put ESPN off of repeating it.

If ESPN wants to expand the playoffs, they put Bama in and let people demand it.

ESPN wants guaranteed revenue. What they want is a P4 with champs only so that each region of the country is involved every year. They know they won't get an expanded playoff because the presidents don't want it, the bowl contract is still running, the players don't need another game stressing their bodies, and the NFL playoff hurts the ratings if it goes later into January.

Which is why I was surprised by Bama's inclusion or the fact the UGA and Bama weren't the semifinal game. Everyone clamoring for an expanded playoff clearly doesn't have a grasp of the financials associated with the CFB Postseason. As you mentioned JR, the various bowls are still interested in continuing their existence along with ESPN as cheap content in December.

The thing that annoys me about this time of year is the idea that somehow playoffs aren't just arbitrary of a mentioned of determining a championship as what CFB previously did. While football isn't conducive to the serial format, that doesn't mean that single elimination is the to ensure the best teams meet in the championship.

The only way this gets solved is if the P5 separate or some sort of massive consolidation that gets CFB from 10 divisions down to 4.
Just wanted to drop by and say congrats on getting two teams into the championship. That is quite an accomplishment. It should be a raucous crowd in Atlanta (those ticket prices are insane).

Thank you! We need more of this on this site. We've got some great Big 10 posters and our rivalry only benefits both conferences. The Big 10's coaching and renewed recruitment efforts is giving us a big push in positive ways. The game needs both of us to be great until the others get their act together.
I posted this on the main board but thought I would post here as well .....

Since my team (Clemson) is not playing, I doubt that I will watch the game. Also, as a fan of a non-SEC team, I am not overly thrilled with an all SEC matchup - this does not mean that I think either Bama or UGA does not belong because I certainly do as both proved on the field that they do in fact belong in the championship game. While I do not plan to watch the game, I will be pulling for Bama. During my time at Clemson in the mid/late 70's, our rivalry with UGA was very intense and at least for me, they were our biggest rival (far exceeding our rivalry with South Carolina). To this day, I still maintain this feeling. While I am no Bama fan, I do certainly respect them (Bama) and there is just absolutely no way I can root for UGA!

Roll Tide!!!!
I’m a Vol fan that lives on the Georgia/ Bama state line. I’m rooting for the giant meteor just like most of the Auburn folks.
Hog fan here,

Just want a good entertaining game. Expecting something closer to the OU-UGa game of the year than the ‘Bama domination of Clemson.

It's beginning to look like a 6-3 affair.
If Hurts doesn’t get it in gear it might be a 24-3 affair
Georgia you gotta finish the game.

Congrats toAlabama. Great move to switch QB’s at half. Saban now ties Bear Bryant.

Well Tua got it in gear. I'm just glad Saban didn't go to him in the Iron Bowl. The kid is elusive and has an arm!

Smart was prepared for Hurts, not Tua. Plus Tua made some amazing passes
The momentum really shifted on that blocked punt which was a terrible call. The refs missed a facemask and the most obvious black in the back on the Alabama return. Seemed like the game really turned after that. Additionally, Georgia started looking in the rear view mirror, and sure enough, the tide rolled in. Winning catch was one of the prettiest plays I have ever seen. Terrible coverage. Feel good for the QB. He will never forget that moment. The happiest guy on the field was the Alabama FG kicker. He almost had to stay in Georgia.04-cheers

True, you can’t have a 2nd and 26 conversion in OT. That is the perfect time to play prevent. You can’t get beat deep.
