This Saturday the ODU Monarchs will play the SC St Bulldogs from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. (MEAC) In years past this would have been a game that ODU would have rolled against. Despite being 1-11, I think ODU has a good chance of winning this game. This will be the Bulldog's second game in three days. They play about seven players. ODU will have lots of rest and the home court advantage.

The Bulldogs Schedule so far. RPI: 301. SOS: 340. Record: 5-6 (3-6 against D-I teams)

It should be noted that the Bulldog's three wins against D-I teams have worse RPIs than ODU.

This is the starting line-up that they used against the 49ers on Thursday. Four guards, and a player who is a G/F. They shot a season low 21.1%. So maybe they will change up their line-up against ODU. Over half of what Lewis shots is a three point attempt. Despite being guard heavy though, they spend a lot of time playing inside.

Control the rebounding, win the battle of the boards, put points on the board. This would be a great game for ODU to win.

For the team's confidence, a win would be great. We will go into regular season conference play and I think the players really need this. And I think it might help the fan morale too.

I talked about it early in the season. Freshman Victoria Morris leads the team in ppg with 12.2. The three point specialist has made 35 3's this season in 12 games. ODU's all time 3 point leader TJ Jordan had 47 3's in her freshman year (31 games played). Right now, she is on pace to be placed in the top ten all time scoring for freshmen at ODU. So far she has scored 146 points. When she gets closer to 200, I'm sure you will hear more about this coming from ODU's sports information department. Despite all the loses, Morris is on her way to having a historic freshman season for ODU.
ODU winning 43-30 late in the fourth. Go Monarchs!
Interesting game for ODU. Oigbokie had a double with 13 points, 13 boards. Taylor Edwards had 10 points and 15 boards, 11 of them offensive. At the half, she had 12 boards (10 offensive) Overall ODU won the battle of the boards 52-28, with 24 offensive boards. That number is unreal. Oddly enough, despite the huge advantage in offensive boards we only scored 16 second chance points. Victoria Morris added 4 more 3s, bringing her season total to 39. The team has a lot of work to do, but they have to feel good with a win.

And honestly, isn't doing ice cream and cake better when you are a head. :-)
Happy New Year Monarch Nation. Next game against conference foe UAB .
