Current pick to win the league title: Cincinnati
Biggest disappointment: Wichita State’s 10-2 start is perfectly acceptable, but it masks the fact that the Shockers have been a mess at the defensive end. They’ve given up 50 or more before halftime three times already this season

Payday writes for Yahoo??? I am impressed.
Ranked 8th in the nation and is the conference's biggest disappointment.

My are the expectations high with Wichita State.
The amount of energy AAC fans are spending scouring the internet looking for anything negative on WSU would black out a small country. Keep saltin' crew!

You kinda oxymoroned yourself there, like you typically do.

If you didn’t care that much about WSU, you wouldn’t have singled them out there and started a thread about it.

Everyone gets it but shocker fans.
what I find interesting about Wichita and what probably gets fixed in conference play- their opponents have taken 44.2% of their shots as 3's.

They will face only 3 teams in conference play who shoot more than the national average in 3's(37.5%)- Tulsa(38%), Tulane(37.7%), and SMU(38.8%). Only 5 games. So that'll help their defense not only with the 3 ball, but also not getting their defense stretched out quite as much as it has in OOC play.

I didn't even know Wichita State was good until I found out you were coming to the conference. Super glad to have you but to think anyone is obsessing over you is laughable. You are like the small time girl who was the prettiest one in your town coming to LA where pretty women are everywhere and you are running around thinking all of the girls are hating on you because you're pretty. Dude, this conference has had dimes for a while now (UCONN, Cinci, etc.)

You must be following this message board as much as you follow college basketball.

but houston is also a 3 point shooting team....we have line ups where all 5 positions can shoot from outside at atleast a 30% rate ..i think we've had 4 different players this season shoot over 5 3s in a game (corey, rob, vanbeck, armoni)...

and can you check. is it that wsu has been playing elite 3 point shooting teams, or that average teams have been shooting well from the 3 .. (because WSU is bad at defending the 3, and teams are getting clean looks)

You know what, you are correct. How was WSU viewed/treated on your old board compared to here?

I didn’t even know Houston was a university until we joined the AAC.

Interesting stats. Thanks.

It makes you wonder if AAC teams will change up some of their schemes a bit because teams have been lighting it up against us.

We also think we’ve been missing our scout master assistant coach Chris Jans who is now picking teams apart at New Mexico State.

Does this buy Ollie another year and send HuskyU to a mental hospital?

Houston only has been taking 35.7% of their shots as 3's this season so far. #215 in the country.

Wichita has seen 3 of the top 18 teams in the country in terms of percentage of shots as 3 pointers. Then 3 others in the 56-69 range. Their average opponent has taken for their seasons about 40.7% of their shots as 3's, which is well above the national average.

And Wichita has still allowed only 33.2% from 3 point range.
