The Westin Book Cadillac has an interesting history:

I am in the belly of the beast at Greektown after attending church. Meet 6:8 280 pound No. 78 who said Sutton Smith was going down!! Actually the duke guys were very nice, but not worried at all.

Teams in the South don’t worry about teams from the North. We have to smack them in the mouth early to show them we mean business....
Just checked in at the Westin. Made my perfunctory look at the pool and the fitness center, then headed for the bar.
How's the weather? Is the snow bad?
Weather channel just showed the Duke and NIU logos, and said it will be 7 degrees outside after the game tomorrow. Good luck to all the Huskies!

Here are the uniforms for tomorrow:

Smith will run right past him.

I'll bet the boys at Nebraska weren't worried either.

Wow, I remember those days. I had every intention of coming up but had some family things arise so I won't be making it. I'll be sending the HAF what I would have spent on the trip.
Anyway I'm starting to feel that I'm a jinx. I've been at all the recent Florida games (and look how those turned out?, and I went to the BC game this year. I feel personally responsible for the shanked kick.

Classic NIU uniforms, but we need the dog back on the helmet.

I don't like the dog. Looks cartoonish. I like more classic looks.
Wow, what a great night. After eating lunch with the Dukies, June and I found the casino and various bars. To cut to the chase, we somehow ended up on the floor where the NIU players were relaxing and playing games. I got killed in ping pong by number 30. I think Mr. Tears beat me too. I think my wife offered Anthony ? QB, a job when graduates. The players were great and took it all in stride. June said she had never seen me so happy and it was absolutely great to meet some of the players.
