P6 ball is always very close. 5-5
We can get a winning record if Navy, Memphis and UCF show up
Ok, so we are at 2-1.

How does that stack up against everyone else ? With the exception of Ohio the MAC has played like crap and CUSA is 2-3 now, right ?

This might put us in the lead.
I've got us 5-6.
2014: Houston over Pitt, UCF lost to NCSU, Cincy L to VPI, ECU L to UF.
2015: Navy over Pitt and Houston over FSU, but Memphis L to Auburn, Tulsa L to VPI.
2016: Temple loss in Annapolis to Wake, USF starts their BHam Bowl win streak (2 and counting)
2017: USF again, and three to go.

BSU is also 2-1 with a fiesta bowl win.

Should we (Memphis) not get credit for Mem over BYU (Miami Beach Bowl)? Doesn't the majority of P5s consider them P5 for scheduling purposes?

BYU is not a P5 team.

No.
Exceptions to scheduling rules for BYU and Army ( and some have been for AAC teams) are about an adequate brand to keep media partners happy.
Only Power independent is Notre Dame ( included in Orange Bowl contract, different money, different seat at governance table).

Ah, so we must be at 3-1 then. Can't forget the Cincy victory in the Orange Bowl.

Should this be Aresco's next move? To get all the P5s to consider the whole of the AAC as P5 for scheduling purposes? A sort of "next step"
And BYU also acted like a bunch of sore loser thugs after the game last year. Embarassed the entire university. And the player that started it all ? He is on the Browns roster. Lol.

Was that within the last 4 years? I really liked that cincy team. Had a wr that was really impressive. Marty Gillyard?

They sure seem pretty dirty lately. Pretty good picture of a BYU player punching a BSU player in the nutts.

Don't get me wrong - it is worth talking about, if only to force the G4 mouth breathers to closely look at the 2-9 (formerly 1-8) they keep crowing.
McMurphy's tweet omits Memphis' BYU win and Navy's home game (Poinsettia Bowl) win over SDSU in '14. 4-9 Doesn't look as bad AND probably adds a CUSA NTx loss to Army into the conversation.

I can see omitting the non power Indies - conference vs conference since that's the competition for NY6 bowl, media contracts etc.
And yeah, Navy was six months away from AAC membership then, but if the discussion is conference strength today and you omit the resume if a team in the conference today...

But it also reinforces the tyranny of small samples and one hopes it gets us to talking about 32-15 instead of 2-9 (or 3-9 or 4-9)
Where are the G4 fans rushing over to congratulate us.

Anytime a G5 program gets a P5 scalp it's a good thing. Does USF bring back a lot for next year?
When did East Carolina join the American? I think they were in the CUSA in 2014.

Without looking it up I don't know.
But it goes back to defining things. You want to measure the relative strength of AAC on 23 Dec 2017? Then let's include the resumes of the teams who are members on 23 Dec 2017. ESPECIALLY if the headline is AAC teams since 2014. So we're starting at not counting Navy's awesomeness in eighteen-dickety-two. Otherwise, Tulane is in the SEC for your reckoning.

If the point is conference strength in 2017, looking back to 2014, then your dataset should be 2017 conference members going back to 2014.
