Memphis KR Tony Pollard has been named 1st team Walter Camp All-American.

Pollard leads the nation in KR yds and KR touchdowns (4).
Nice, fun to watch.
We went two decades without a kick return for a TD, and now he has six in two seasons.

Would be incredible if he gets one more this season, given how opponents are trying to avoid him now.
Love to see him play some WR next year . . . Should have 2 All Americans. Congrats to Pollard! Much deserved.
Congrats Tony and I'd like to see u as a receiver the Dude would be hard to cover on a stop go deep on 2

If he isn't first team on every All American team this year then there is something screwy going on.

4 TD on 19 returns.

Almost 6 yards a return better than the #2 guy

2.11 yards per return more than the current NCAA single season record.
We have come a long way on punt returns. I seem to remember under Porter we had a total of 10 yards or so for the year on punt returns. Now we have a real return and kickoff threat.
Too bad this guy wasn't...u know the best wr in the whole fkn country.

WOW S.I. only has him 2nd team. Think they have spent too much time focusing on swim suit models and not watching football.
Since this is kind of like NATIONAL TONY POLLARD RECOGNITION DAY, I thought you all might enjoy seeing a video of Tony playing football in the 8th grade.

"We beat Oklahoma" Yeah, I fully expect ISU to be cocky enough to kick to Pollard and I fully expect he'll make them pay dearly.

Helluva honor for Touchdown Tony. A great season. Well deserved.

Shockingly there were no non-P5 1st teamers.

Miller did make second team as well.

SBNation team also had him 2nd team. More P5 bias in play.
It is a well deserved honor. 04-bow

Freaking awesome!
Pollard should return punts also

I assume he may have trouble fielding punts. That's the only logical reason I can think of for him not doing it since he is such a great returner.
Pollard gets vertical quickly. It's a key point that S/T coaches teach, and he does it instinctively. Pop on punts has the quickness, but he is hesitant on making that first move up field. You have to take those first 3-5 strides north, then look for the field to open up. Pop can get there - he is just going to have to work at it.
