The spiders come limping into the Ted Wednesday night at 1-7.

Let's hope their red sweater-vest fans drive home to stinky town staring at 1-8.

Thank goodness Lieberman's son is gone. Lets hope we beat at least one team from Richmond this year.
Wednesday, 7:00 at the Ted: Richmond (1-7).

Results to date: Delaware (63-76); Jacksonville St (61-94); UAB (63-50); Cincinnati (48-75); La-Lafayette (76-82); Georgetown (76-82); Vermont (65-71); Wake Forest (53-82).

Last game: WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Redshirt freshman Grant Golden scored a team-high 16 points and added seven rebounds, but it wasn't enough for the Spiders to overcome an on-target Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons shot better than 54 percent from the field for the game and stretched their 11-point halftime lead to more than 20 with an 11-0 run to open the second half, cruising to an 82-53 victory. Golden topped the 15-point mark for the fourth time in his last six games and added seven rebounds for Richmond. Also in double figures for the Spiders was sophomore Nick Sherod, who finished with 12 points, hitting on four three-pointers for the second straight game.

G Joe Kirby (6-1 205 Sr). 7.8 min.; .364 FG (2-9 3s); 1.3 pts

Terrible defensive team (opponents .518 FG, .384 3s) that struggles to rebound, although they did beat UAB (go CUSA).
Losing to W&M was bad for our very slim chances for an at large bid. The VCU loss hurt us a little more. A loss to Richmond would eliminate any chance at an at large bid. Our backs are against the wall. Lets see how we respond. We are a tired team both mentally and physically.
Need this one. Not for an at large big, but for the confidence of the players and the fans. A loss here would be a very bad look for Jones.

Our chances for an at-large were eliminated in June when the schedule came out.
Just win. All this other talk is noise right now. Gotta get the W, get to 10, then 15, then 20 and hopefully up to 25 or whatnot. Just WIN, get moving in the right direction.

And oh, play your squad coach! Run em in run em out. Caver shouldn't have to play 40 minutes, 35 is fine. Let Green run the point two minutes if need be. Get Hueitt 6-8 mins. Green 8-10. Godwin 3-5. Come on, turn your squad loose man! No need to have a worn out team with 8 mins left.
If you guys lose to ur you should fire JJ before he leaves the building. I've watched a few of their games. They stink.

Even though they are in our conference, most VCU fans will be hoping for an ODU win. It is ur.

You guys don't need to be so hard on yourselves. The game Saturday was a good game. When you went up 11 I thought you might have us.

I listen to or watch most of your games. I think you will be fine the rest of the way. While I don't think 20 wins are in the cards, it would not surprise me if it happened. But you need to get rid of JJ. He is just an aging hack. Wood stuck it to you when he hired his buddy. Tried to do it on the cheap, and you see what you got.

Good luck and enjoy the rest of your season.

Have you seen our schedule? If we don't get 20 wins, JJ should be gone ASAP.
So Richmond has one win this season, by 13 points, on a neutral court, against the team picked to finish 2nd in CUSA. 03-banghead

I would agree but if we only had 3 losses in OCC portion and 1 or 2 losses in conference we stood a chance. A loss against the Ticks would put a nail in those hopes.

I think at this point the only way ODU gets an at-large is if they go undefeated all the way to the title game. There are no more good win opportunities in the OOC and probably only a couple in-conference, depending on how the next month or so shakes out. The best win to date (Dayton) will be nice but hardly the kind of result upon which you hang your at-large hopes. A road win against VCU would have been better but even that wouldn't have been enough. They needed to win Charleston to have even a puncher's chance. Now it's a matter of getting a top-four seed in Frisco and making a run.
Can't argue with that but I will note that Towson is probably our best win on paper.

Yeah, that's a good point. Clearly those two wins are going to stand heads and shoulders above any other OOC results.

Towson is our best win! A team we beat 19 out of 20 while in the CAA and 28 of 30 overall is our best win! Is there anything else that can be said about our current status in the world of college hoops?

Towson's a good team! Certainly better than most of the Towson teams that ODU beat in the CAA.

Why is it so hard for people to believe that other teams can improve?

Because we aren't.
I was on instagram the other day and the ODU Sports account posted this picture:

Check out the uniform the guy is wearing, hinting at the throwback we're supposed to be wearing against NSU 04-cheers04-clap2
