Reports: Jimbo Fisher resigns as Florida State coach, heading to Texas A&M

If one has to rebuild, it makes sense to move to a place where rebuilding is expected to take time. Unless another "Johnny Football" shows up at College Station, Jimbo should have a couple of years grace period ahead of him. He has moved from one recruiting hotbed (FL) to another (TX) so he as contacts in both now.

Texas A&M has the 9th best recruiting average over the past five years. That team has talent, and i doubt Jimbo is going to get much of a grace period.

I wonder if there are any juicy story lines reporters can dig up.

Here comes the "Hey Tony, did you know UAB plays A&M next year?"
Yes, I also know UAB is in the same conference as FAU.

How about Fisher allowing Jameis to rape women & steal crab legs?

On a side note anyone know how coach Neal and Clarks relationship is coming along figure we need it come the 22nd.

He did not allow him to rape women or steal. He made have allowed him to play football admist the allegations. But he never allowed those things to take place. Jimbo wasn’t present at either allegation.

While I agree the contracts are getting out of control, when over the next 10 years are 100,000 people going to come watch that professor teach english?? There's your answer.

While I agree the contracts are getting out of control, when over the next 10 years are 100,000 people going to come watch that professor teach english?? There's your answer.

It is true that America is an entertainment driven culture that pays its glamorous entertainers the big bucks. That is why the UA Athletic Department receives $150 million annually in charitable (tax deductible) contributions and can spend $200,000 annually per athlete at a school that has to raise tuition annually to afford to spend $12,000 per regular student. We put our money where our values are.

If we could only get China, North Korea and Russia to settle differences with us on a football field (or other sports venue), we would save a lot on our defense spending.

Years ago, Texas A&M offered Jackie Sherill $5 million to come there to coach football. At the same time, the school was recruiting a Nobel Prize winning physicist to come to their Science Dept. That teacher declared he would only come if he was offered as much as the FBHC. Did Texas A&M sign the teacher? I never heard what the school decided, but they did sign Sherill.
