Winning this one and shutting all the VCU fans up are not synonymous. They will merely exclaim how this is ODU's "Superbowl" and their team can't even get up to play such a lowly team anymore. They will further ask among themselves why they even still schedule ODU (sorta like a couple of our fans did after our recent loss to lowly W&M).

Even the most ardent VCU fans will admit that this program no longer walks with the giants of NCAA D1 BB.
Beating them has become routine again.
We beat them, they'll say they shouldn't play us. Lol
We are typically very prepared for them. Free throws cost us last year and in some years thy just had more talent.
I like our chances.

I think this team is playing better and more importantly, tougher. They will need it in that environment. I think we'll know more about VCU's progress after tonight's home game against App State.

No, though they're pretty high scoring if given an opportunity (even dismissing the Toccoa Falls debacle, they scored 99 and 98 points in a pair of losses this season). I think it's more "if VCU dismisses them quickly, then they'll be in good shape for the ODU game; if they let App stick around like North Florida, it's not encouraging for them."
VCU is -11, and I suspect they'll cover that even if they underperform.
This game is really simple to determine the outcome. We have the advantage in the post. If Brandon and Trey can stay out of foul trouble we should be able to establish the low post. The issue will be the tricky tack fouls and if the FECESU crowd can pressure the officials to make calls. Also, if FECESU is able to manhandle our guards it will make it easy to go down hill and draw fouls. I hope we play more zone in this game. They will show token pressure to limit our shot clock on each possess. We had FECESU beat at home last year until we let our foot off the gas. This game I suspect FECESU will be favored by 4 to 6pts.
I the converse around Bazemore wearing a VCu shirt and that the players don’t see the rivalry/hatred the way we fans do.
Anyone know if our current crop of players has any bad feelings about vcu?
