I know the decision depends on a lot of factors including the outcome of Friday night's game.

Let's say that UCF wins Friday night making the outcome of Saturdays game irrelevent in terms of home field in title game.

Do we play our starters the full game?

Do we start them and then pull them in second half.

Do we play them till we get a big lead and then rest them.

If the chance arises do we use the ECU game as a live game practice for younger players who have not seen the field much and would benefit from some in game action? Or a reward for upper class players who spent their time here with little playing time?

I know we will have around 2-3 weeks of practice before we play again so rest should not be an issue.
Since we can still make the access bowl with a AAC championship, our record is not irrelevant. A two loss AAC champ might not hold off Boise.

So we play to win regardless, leaving our key guys in until we have achieved that goal.

When we call the dogs off will depend on the score and time I'm thinking. I'd love to play the bench late...

You may want to afford yourself the opportunity to enroll in that reading comprehension class. Please refer to the bolded part of Sun’s post above. You obviously missed hims stating that if Memphis loses to ECU and beats UCF in the championship, Boise my get the access bowl spot.

I hope this clears up any confusion on your part due to your lack of reading comprehension.

Sweet Mary Sunshine do you need a personality transplant. I dunno who pissed in your Cheerios today...but man get over yourself.
I give an up front clear scenario and ask a SIMPLE question about what we do in that clearly pointed out situation and all i get back is smart ass remarks and assumptions.

I stated CLEARLY that IF UCF WINS and that HOME FIELD IS NO LONGER AN ISSUE in the title game. Do we use the ECU game as a live practice and i get back smart ass remarks about something i did not ask.

I never once insinuated that the game was NOT important to the Access bowl availability. ONLY THAT IT WAS IRRELEVANT FOR HOME FIELD IN TITLE GAME IF UCF WON.

Did not say a damn thing about access bowl or anything else. But he goes off on something that was not even addressed in the original premise presented.

Why is it so freaking hard to get a simple answer to a simple question without having to go through the same bull freaking crap over and over.
NTR
UCF's coach Frost is actively denying rumors that he's close to a 5-year deal with Nebraska (his alma mater) to leave UCF. Perhaps we might have a Fuente situation in the making... And perhaps this distraction could lead to a loss by UCF to South Florida.

I think the answer was that we play to win because the ECU game may impact bowl selection. Seems like a straight forward response to the original question.

It is a stupid question when it is simplified like you have done. Your simplified question ignores the most important goal.

It is crazy to sit your starters when you have more on the line than just home field advantage.

That is like saying is it Ok to quit your job if you have enough money to pay all your bills next month. There are so many other factors to consider.
Let Riley throw 7 TDs in the 1st half like Lynch did and let Moore play the 2nd half.
Dude give this up.

Two threads worth you have devoted to this silliness

Regardless of the outcome of the UCFUSF game, we have an incredible amount to play for...to the point that a potential loss of the ability to host the title game is irrelevant.

Making it a moot point. If the goal is to play in a New Years style bowl.

Yes...you are right if that is not the goal. Congratulations. Eat this one, and move on.
For the OP, this is a bad question. If we had no shot at the access bowl, then maybe your options could possibly be considered. But if we win out, the Tigers are going to a New Year's Day Bowl. We play our starters until the game is in hand.
Well, he may be of the opinion that a 2 loss Memphis still gets the access Bowl spot.

Probably because it's a dumb as sh*t question.

Of course you play your guys until the game is out of hand. Just like every other game.

But you did comprehend my post.
Was thinking about this, and the OP is right.

Because the game may be irrelevant to home field, but still massively relevant to Peach type bowl, the home field irrelevancy should result in resting the starters...

About .03% sooner.

That slight tweak should result in about an extra eye blink by a linebacker once the game is in hand...assuming we get it in hand...no disrespect to ECU.

If home field is still in play, the linebacker should not blink an extra time.

Yes, without home field consideration for the conference title game we should completely ignore the possibility of playing in the access bowl. I vote we do not even bother putting starters in at all if we have no shot at home field. Our starters will then be extra rested for the sh!t hole bowl instead of being a little more tired for the Peach Bowl...
