WOW! Rudd said we have a top 10 practice facility and he expects the program to follow suit and be a top 10 program to match the fancy practice facility.

The facility sounds amazing. And he's spot on. And maybe now Tubby will realize he needs to engage the community and that he's at the best program he's been at since Kentucky. Or maybe not in which case he will be gone. But the program goes beyond Tubby. We will be back, whether it's under Tubby or someone who gets what it means to be the Memphis basketball coach

04-cheers dilly dilly to the max!
You better believe that Bill Laurie is not going to let his money go to waste. Tubby needs to get to work or he is gone.

Bingo! Well said 04-cheers
Dilly Dilly!

Send UNO and Northern Kentucky to the pit of misery!
The infrastructure is in place for success. There is no excuse for failure by Tubby or any coach at Memphis.
I don't know if he said it in the article, but just now on Parrish, Geoff said Rudd also said turning around basketball is fast. In direct contrast to Tubby saying it takes time.
You don't hit up Krystal's at 3am and spend $56,000 on a #3 with fries unless you're in Vegas and girls #1 and #2 don't offer fries. Big spenders expect big results.

You don't give $10 million to accept sub-par, mediocre results.

You expect what you pay for and that is the expectation. Go Tigers.
From the comments of Rudd and Laurie, combined with what Geoff said about basketball being fast, it would seem to me the higher ups arent very enthused with what they are seeing from the Tub so far.
If Tubby and staff don't understand now what's a stake with this program, then they never will.
With Rudd’s statements today, he put big time pressure squarely on Tubby’s shoulders. Basically it’s produce a top 10 to 15 program or move aside.
^Yep and get it done fast.

The money is already wasted. You can't go from not able to sign local 3*s to top 10 in 2-3 years.

Tubby may not be able to get it done, but there are plenty of great coaches out there who can.

It is the best basketball related news I’ve read in a long time.
I bet there were a lot of confused looks when Tubby said the new facility has helped his recruiting.
Very cool but if it took this ribbon cutting and comments from the President for Tubby to 'know' what's expected then....

I say it didn't. I think Tubby is plenty smart but also plenty stubborn
