Alabama-Birmingham will beat Florida and officially cement the 2017 season as the worst in the program’s history. Yes, worse even than the winless 1979 team, which lost three games by a single possession. It would only be fitting that this year’s UF team would pay UAB $1.5 million and then lose. If so, maybe they should hire the Blazers’ head coach?

**currently, UAB is the lead photo on USA Today's sports stories but could change at any second**
I posted this on another thread and was met with disagreement. To me, it isn't an upset when the better team wins. I don't care what the point spread is, or who is favored. We all know the spread is set because of the names on the front of the jerseys, not the names on the back. We also know it is because "the experts" don't do their homework on UAB, and put a good bit of stock in playing on the road, which does hold the most weight. Given the directions both teams are currently going, on a neutral field, this would be a 4-5 point spread. My prediction is UAB wins, 19-16.
Wiki: “An upset occurs in a competition, frequently in electoral politics or sports, when the party popularly expected to win (the favorite), is defeated by an underdog whom the majority expects to lose...”
The college football world will not give UAB any credit if they beat Florida. It will all be attributed to how bad Florida is.
I honestly dont know how many players we have that would start for florida, even with their injuries, but i doubt it's many.

Florida will be bigger, faster, and more athletic at virtually every position. If we win, it will be an upset.

Yep! And I sure don't want to see UAB get banged up with injuries trying too hard win one game against a favored SEC team on the road this late in the season. Any type of injury would be devastating.
Coach built this team the right way...there are fully grown men on UAB side..I doubt they will be pushed around by Florida.
The wild card is if the setting is to big for kids... some of our men may be overwhelmed by the swamp. ...we are fortunate to have a coach who will help the team focus on beating this team and reaching goals..
I think our best chance of winning is to have something really big happen early, and jump to an early lead...I could see Florida just folding at that point

I loved the placement of this game being late in the season just because the possible injuries won't have much impact on the season. Our guys are banged up from the grind and normal competition. Not because they are out there against superior depth and talent. Hopefully the grind has taken steam out of Florida just like us, which should even the playing field.

I know we put up points, but I don't consider us high scoring. We just grind. I don't expect many points to be scored tomorrow. The defense and field position should be key. I hope their offense tries to open the game up and we get some turnovers off their aggressiveness.
I just hope we can stuff UF's run game and they feel like they have to throw. I like our secondary's chances.

I would have given the nod to our defense over offense, but after taking a look, we are #42 at 32.0 ppg and Florida is #115 at 20.6 ppg.

I guess by comparison, we are a high scoring offense. The numbers all favor us, but it's so hard to put together a comparison given who they've played and who we've played.

I hope we give them the Rice treatment...I don't expect it, but it would be awesome!
Game should be dedicated to Greg Bryant. Our only Florida game of the year for a Florida boy. Don't know how many players will be thinking about him today.
I bet that Bryant comes up in the locker room before the game.

The Swamp is aways an advantage for Florida, but it's the end of a bad season. The team and fans are dispirited. I hope a lot of people blow off going to the game as a result.

Getting a lead early would be big, but I think what wins it for us is if the defense can score. A pick-6 and some turnovers forced will break them.
