Dear Wood Selig. It is way past time to see Petey Sessom's jersey hanging from the rafters. He surely deserves to be hanging with the best ODU players ever.
Thank you.
Thank you.

I think he was inducted into the ODU HOF in 2004

Anyone in the ODU Hall of Fame should have their jersey hanging in the rafters. Retired numbers create a separate level that is unnecessary.I'm with you on retiring numbers. It should be very limited if at all. Regarding football, I don't know if other schools do it but it would be very difficult considering the number of players on the team. They already double up some numbers.
I hope football never starts retiring numbers.

Football will probably do something like Tech does where they will retire the jersey but not the number. It’s kind of a fine line but does free stuff up.

Baze ended up being very fine but his first two years he could hardly bring the ball up the court without banging it off his leg. Sessoms was great right out of the gate and is way up on the all time scoring list. Way past time to recognize him.

I think there's more to the reason for retiring numbers than just the play on the court. Baze was on a team that went to two NCAA Tournaments. He was the best defender in the conference. He played a role in getting UA signed with the university, which was a huge raised compared to the Nike deal (I feel like this is a bigger deal than most people outside message boards realize). And it sounds like he gave a solid donation for the practice facility. He also is constantly bringing up ODU on social media. He is an asset to the community in which he resides.
