In case any of you hockey fans missed it, WMU swept the #1 team in the country last weekend and is ranked #15/18

Good for WMU.

Miami looks a lot better so far compared to last year but has a road series against NoDak and Minnesota-Duluth in a week - those two series are gonna be huge. Losing badly in both puts us in a huge hole for the Pairwise and NCHC standings, getting a couple of wins would really boost our confidence on top of the actual points.
The NCHC is such a tough road, but if you can come out with a winning record you've got a great shot at the NCAAs.
WMU is up to #9 in the USA today poll, and is #11 in the USCHO poll. However, in the all important Pairwise, WMU is #4 which means if the NCAA tournament started today, we'd be a #1 seed. BG is doing well in the pairwise as well coming in at #11 in the most recent rankings.

I really wish the NCAA tournament started today.... lol

Nice start so far for the hockey broncos and falcons.
I wish NIU had a D1 program.
Miami beat 11th ranked BG last night, gives up a late goal today where it ended up a tie.
Huge series this weekend as Miami travels to Kalamazoo to faceoff against WMU. Our Pairwise has improved but it's still only 26, while Western is sitting at 9. It's a big chance for us to really move up and gain some NCHC points but we also risk falling dangerously behind if we lay an egg.
We're 1-3 in our last 4. These two games are must wins for us as well, otherwise we'll start falling out of the top 16 in the pairwise.
Miami wins the first game 5-2, moves up to 16 in the Pairwise.
We over-performed in those first few weeks. Now the losses will start piling up.

The schedule gets harder, but (if that's even possible) but I don't think we overperformed. We've had some lapses but are still going into the break in a really good position, even after splitting with Miami this past weekend.
Congrats to Bowling Green for winning the GLI, and beating Michigan in the process. 04-bow

3 of the past 5 years a "MAC" team has been invited to the GLI. And in each case that team won the whole thing.
