fsu/clemson espn 330
Will be rooting for Miami next week.

Cheers,

Vegas has the Irish favored by 4. A Canes victory, followed by wins against Virginia and Pitt, could set up a blockbuster CCG if Clemson holds serve.

I think that's the best scenario for the conference. A one-loss Clemson, who will be ranked very highly, and an undefeated Miami, who by that time, should be knocking on the playoff door.

It would be a fantastic game, and would be excellent for the ACC.

The during game start time mention was so more eyeballs would see the prime time mention, plus the same with the GameDay annoucement at Coral Gables. ABC/ESPN is hyping this game a lot, deservedly so. The ND vs. Miami games of the past, when the Canes were annual championship contenders, were as popular and as exciting as any two college games. The promo and hype for this game is going to really be strong. Catholics vs. Convicts, a private bling identity, SoFLA gold turnover chain vs. the Golden Domers. This is one of those special games with undefeated Miami and one beaten ND. Miami played with a chip on it's shoulder vs. VT as VT was favored by 4+ pts at game time. ND will also be favored, which will work to Miami's incentive advantage.

My prediction, Miami 31 Notre Dame 28. Go Canes!

It would almost certainly be a de facto CFP quarterfinal game.

If Miami can beat ND, then the remaining ACC games, and Clemson hold serve, that ACC game would be a bonanza for ratings. If the Canes won then played Alabama or GA that would be blockbuster. ACC fans rallied last year behind Clemson and one can expect they would do the same, even for bling, TurnOver chain crazy Miami. And lot of ifs and games to yet be played.

Hell yeah ACC fans would rally behind Miami. Those Card fans I know are already there. Of course, we don't play Miami, which makes it easier. But if the Canes take care of business, I would assume a good hunk of those fans the Canes just beat would be for them going forward.

But you are right ... there is LOTS of football left to be played.

The ACC --- and Notre Dame being relevant helps the ACC too --- is sitting pretty right now.

It's great to be part of this conference. I keep pinching myself, to make sure I am not dreaming. Never in a million years did I EVER think my Louisville Cardinals would be fortunate enough to find ourselves included in this conference.
Go Irish!!

Canes note: Hosting the ABC Saturday night game back-to-back weeks is rare. Last to do it: Texas Tech in 2008 (but one was split-national).

Louisville is a good addition to the ACC. Go Canes!

Go Canes!!! Get ready for over the top South Beach, sunshine babes in bikinis (ABC promos) and the obnoxious TurnOver chain. It's going to be a fun game with a huge national audience.

I never watch promo stuff, just tune in at kickoff.

I have no objection to sunshine babes in bikinis, though.

I think that this will be a good game.
Does the "convict" reputation bother any Miami fan? The reason I asked is it seems y'all have hired a great coach with a great reputation and have "cleared house".
Y'all went through all that pain and suffering (some arguably needed but I bet some not) and your still considered "convicts".
Despite all that y'all have done, the media and certain schools still branding you "Convicts"

I guess you can only do so much.

Maybe this is just me, but the label of "convicts" to Miami now, doesn't hold the same meaning as it did.

It takes me back to a time when Miami football was the undisputed king, and the players were amazing, and played with a swagger that is unmatched, in any team, before or since.

Honestly to me, it also now almost seems like it could mean elitists vs. regular people at this point even though that originally wasn’t the intention.

The "Convicts" designation may arguably been applicable to Miami in the Eighties and early Nineties, perhaps, but not now.....as far as I know.

But how you get "elitists vs. regular people" out of "Catholics vs. Convicts" escapes me.

I am looking for a good game. I have no idea who will play better on Saturday night.
