I bet coaches that watch film from the Wake game versus the Conference games wonder where that team went. It’s almost like the team put all their emotion into that game and never recovered.

Ain't that the truth...
If App State had kicked a field goal against Wake Forest that probably 85% of FBS kicking teams could make, are we having this conversation about App not really being all that good?

Did anyone follow UMass versus Miss State BTW?
App by 4 TD's. GS has taken teams to Boone and lost that were far better than what they are taking Thursday. In fact GS has taken teams whose scout teams were better than their current starters to Boone and lost.

They are definitely better than their record reflects.

Also, they were apparently very angry during the MSU game.
Remember back when these threads would be started on Sunday and would have several hundred posts by game day on Thursday? 03-weeping

That's like telling a bald man he is bald.

Then no need to worry.

It's (I) HATE (THIS) WEEK!

That's more like it.

Surprisingly we actually kinda have that.

Unfortunately he doesn't throw unless a WR is completely open. I'm shocked he threw that bomb at the end of the game against Gast.....and it was dead on the money.

Also unfortunate is that even if we were to pass the ball more, our blocking in all aspects is pretty crap and App has a decent DL.

It's also going to be hard to get up emotionally for this game after the one last week. Having both rival games back to back like that is horrible scheduling. At least we'll see how good of a motivator Lunsford is.
GS is going to lose. It's that simple. We are THE worst team in FBS (and probably at the bottom of FCS, heck it would be hard to find a win in D2). The Summers era has completely crushed this program. We are actually worse than when we started in the 80s. It's like they took highschool football players and regressed them to pee-wee football levels. It really is amazing how poor coaching can effect a team.

App wins by 3+ scores. GS continues to just hate itself and drudge through the remaining games wishing we could end the season. Recruiting will be abysmal and no matter who is hired we have at least 2-3 years to even think of turning this around.
I guess we'll find out who the tallest midget in the room is this Thursday.
I think we'll win.
Here’s a question for my fellow Georgia Southern fans and my friends at App state:

When both teams are operating at full capacity (meaning having 9 to 10+ wins every year for multiple years), which is the better coaching job? Which program has a higher ceiling? Where would you see your program in 10 years given that they are 10 years of success?

I only ask this because neither program has been FBS long enough to see sustained success although App is on the cusp if they can continue their stride for 1-2 more years.

But the players don't know how to win.

Any App fans want to make an avatar bet?

If App wins by 20 points or more, you use a GS avatar for the month of November.
App wins by 10-19 points, it's a draw.
If App wins by less than 10 points, I will use an App avatar for the rest of the month.
If GS wins, I will use an App avatar until our next spring practice ends.

Takers?

Ceiling is probably pretty comparable. App's financial situation is probably better at this time, which can change.

If I'm a coach I'd pick App due to patience of fanbase and location, but I'm biased of course.

It's definitely a bias-based question but I enjoy reading thoughts from other fan bases. Location really has to do with a beach vs mountains preference. Financially I'd say App has the lead but the gap is closing. I give GS the slight edge in recruiting ground and less instate competition which a coach would value when trying to choose.

GS job also has the option handcuffs.
