Eighth is where we finished last year, after tie-breaks and what not... While we underachieved, will be interesting to see if we can maintain with such a depleted roster.
42 points between 5 and 6
43 points between 6 and 12?
Whatever
It's really sad how far USA has fallen. While my optimism is very low, hopefully this will be the year Graves finally gets it together.

TXST will look good in OOC because it is so weak. It will be interesting to see how they play come conference games.

Good luck to UTA this year, I think they have a shot to turn some heads in March.

No, coaches see it as a 1 team race. What they can't agree on is who finishes 2nd. Poll is only that close at the top 5 if basically everyone from 2-5 gets a 2nd place vote.
I think Texas State is probably a bit underrated, but I am a big Danny Kasper fan. A-State is probably a dark horse but a bit unknown. I don't think ULM will be last. However, I can see why they were voted that way.
UTA convincingly defeating OU last week means all of us UTA fans have something to be excited about. They deserve the #1 ranking and all the media love they're receiving.

Continue to think that if you wish but I know better.

It was. You're not foolish enough to believe that OU took that thing seriously, or that they didn't rotate their squad regularly to gain experience for the regular season.

Take anything you see in exhibition play with a grain of salt. Win or lose.
With two first teamers returning, not a surprise UTA is picked #1. But there are just a few points separating them from 2-5.
I’m no fan of Bobby Big Fish, but the Cajuns are gonna win the Belt this year.

interesting coaches picked Georgia State second, but only 1 Panther is represented 1st, 2nd, and 3rd all sunbelt teams. does that mean our rotation depth is hella fantastic?

Good point. I wouldn't put too much stuck into the preseason rankings, I only use it to find out which teams are supposed to be competitive. I do believe in Georgia State is one of those teams.

It means coaches don't know enough about who Georgia State has to vote on them. Preseason Polls are all about the familiar. Coaches vote for the people they know, not the one's they don't know.
FYI, Here is what SI has:

1. UL Lafayette
2. Texas Arlington
3. Georgia State
4. Georgia Southern
5. Arkansas State
6. Troy
7. Texas State
8. Coastal Carolina
9. UL Monroe
10. App State
11. South Alabama
12. Little Rock

SI has The top 5 all within 100-150 in the Full D1 Rankings list, with Troy and Texas State hanging 150-200. They have Little Rock as one of the 10 worst teams in America this season. Woof.

I think Little Rock will be okay. We looked decent last night (of course we were playing a DII team) despite having 2 expected starters out with injuries- Camron Reedus (Juco All-American) and DeAndre Burns (best returning player). Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, from outside, but I think (hope) those two players will change that. Not predicting a championship, but believe we will be competitive and maybe finish in the middle of the pack.

Still a lot of games to be played, but we are pretty darn good.
