1. Georgia
2. Alabama
3. Notre Dame
4. Clemson
-------------
5. Oklahoma
6. Ohio State
7. Penn State
8. TCU
9. Wisconsin
10. Miami

Undefeated teams in bold above.

My thoughts: Bold, but I think pretty damn good. Wisconsin not in the top 4 for their schedule being weak. OU over Ohio State seems fair as well.

How is Clemson ranked ahead of Ohio State and Oklahoma? I can understand OU being ranked ahead of OSU due to head to head, but based on SoS and performance since they met opening weekend, I think Ohio State is significantly better. I also think this is showing bias toward Notre Dame. Sure, if the Irish manage to get though the murderers row of teams ahead of them in the schedule they would certainly deserve a Top 4 spot, but up to this point they really haven't beaten any heavy weights...and they do have one loss already.

The reasons why my system ranks Oklahoma at #14:

1. Routing UTEP and Tulane means nothing;
2. An 8-point win over winless Baylor;
3. 5-point and 7-point wins over 4-4 Texas and 4-4 Kansas State.

An impressive win at Ohio State does not wipe out such mediocrity in the other games. A 22-point win against defenseless Texas Tech won't do it, either.
Clemson has defeated #12 Virginia Tech, #18 Auburn, #33 Georgia Tech, #36 Wake Forest, and #38 Boston College (my ratings). That's a much deeper résumé than that of Oklahoma's.

IMO, Oklahoma is grossly overrated. They're living off their opening day win over Ohio State. I think if they played again now OSU would blow them off the field.

But OSU already played them at home and got crushed so luckily what you think doesn’t matter at all.
Well, I like to look at it in groupings. So, for our purposes, I'll say top 25% (I'll cut at top 32), top 50% (cut at top 64), and remaining. And I'll use Massey's Division 1 rankings (because it's easier to look rankings up). Within that, there are close wins (1 to 7 points), good wins (8 to 20 points), and "blowouts" (21+). Losses will also fall in the same categories. So you'll see 6 numbers in each column. It'll go from blowout win, to good win, to close win, to close loss, to bad loss, to blowout loss.

That's Alabama's problem in a nutshell. They're the ones who haven't played any good teams yet, not Notre Dame. ND has played 5 top 32 teams, as has Clemson. And Notre Dame's loss is better (to the CFP top team, by 1 point, albeit at home) than anyone else.

Really, it's interesting to see how not-difficult some teams' schedules have been, or if they're struggling with bottom 50% teams by not getting blowouts. And if you think that's unfair, consider this: the difference in Massey between position #5 and #65 (on a neutral field) is over 26 points, and between #5 and #33 is 18 points. So even that middle column should probably result in blowouts a fair amount of time.

I don't know if I'll be able to keep this up weekly, but maybe I'll do it once the rest of the regular season is done, to get a sense of how difficult certain schedules have been.

Notre Dame has beaten three teams currently ranked in the top 25. They have a much better resume so far than any one loss team, IMO.
Just root for Notre dame to choke.. Oklahoma will choke.. Ohio State could lose another game and "they" would justify them in... Clemson or Miami then have the inside to the playoff... Georgia could still choke.. Unlikely, but Bama could lose to auburn and georgia... too early.. I can't argue with the poll they have now... But will have a hard time with Ohio State getting in if ND, and OU run the table... Everyone forgets that while the clemson loss was to lowly 'Cuse, it was a Friday night road game in conference... Friday nights lead to weird stuff...flukes. I discredit that loss way more than OU's to ISU or OSU to OU

OU and Ohio State both lost to teams ranked in the top 15. Syracuse is a team that lost to MTSU. I don't care what night of the week it was, that's a bad loss by Clemson. They do have good wins over Virginia Tech and Auburn though, so feel like that's why they slotted in ahead of OU/Ohio State.
