UF is a crap pile this year and you guys can do it.

It would mean more to your program than any bowl game.
I'd rather go win a bowl. Beating them would be nice but we have higher goals.
hey, lets just do both and call it a season

I didnt mean it as an either/or :)
Can one imagine the national attention UAB Blazers would get with such a victory? Perhaps the stars are aligning for that game like they did for the 2000 LSU game. Of course, UAB has other fish to fry first.
If they let McElwain go, I'd imagine it would be a tougher game than people think much in the same way when LSU let Miles go & the way LSU played to end the season. If McElwain is still hanging on, we'd have a good chance but there's game before it we have to worry with first. We can't count any chickens nor eggs yet.
Playing an SEC school in their place when the SEC school is struggling to get bowl eligible is a tall order. I can see us getting refereed out of the Swamp in a hurry.

we can beat sec teams but we cannot beat sec refs
let us not forget that we're only 8 days removed from losing to the "worst" team in the country.
lets beat Rice and then move along
Scarbinsky predicted a win over Florida two weeks ago on the Zone.

report is that he's gone and Shannon is taking over the rest of the season

Yup gotta tap those brakes a little bit. Florida game is shaping up to be a lot more interesting than I thought it would be before the season though. They could get a jolt of energy and confidence with Randy Shannon and turn the season around, or they could lose to Missouri and South Carolina and quit on him.
It would be a great accomplishment if we could, It would be a great win regardless. They are still a SEC team with SEC players and SEC Pockets. And SEC Fans. Rice should be a good preliminary game they got the same type of players. They from Houston with deep pockets and a chip on their shoulder. As Good as Kentucky was Tennessee can still beat them.

My bet is that the powers at UF heard Jon Gruden is a candidate for the UT job, and want to get into the mix.
Shut it. 03-shhhh
If we beat them, we may not have a coach anymore

Florida's previous AD had a philosophy of "If you know you're going to fire someone after the season, go on and do it early and get it over with." It looks like they are staying with that. This frees them up to go fully active in the coaching market instead of contacting people back channel. The job is formally open.

I can't believe McElwain was fired before Butch Jones. I bet Tennessee is kicking themselves for waiting and allowing Florida to get the jump on them. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they announce his resignation today.
Let's just add "We Want Bama" to the list...

Seriously though, there is no way we're beating UF at their place the way we're playing on offense and special teams.
We will also beat Charlotte.
