JMU has beat every opponent this year by at least 10.

Elon has not beaten anyone this year by a touchdown.

Both are still undefeated in the conference. They are equal to us in conference play until one of us lose. Speculate til the cows come but a win is a win.
That's the way our '08 team played all season. Not only did we win so many close games, but a lot went down to the final play of the game. My point being we were completely capable of beating anyone, but the close game finally bit us with a number of turnovers. That football can bounce in some odd directions.
If you would have told me that Elon would be vying for a league title and Villanova and Richmond would need to win out to be in he playoff convo...with three weeks to go in the season, id have said you were crazytown.

btw...i think unh beats Elon, but league title will still be in the line down there.
Definitely two ways to look at this:

1) they only beat URI by 1 point, CSU by 2 pts, and RU by 3 pts.

2) their only loss is to a very good Toledo team that is leading MAC West with only loss to Miami. Elon might be better than most MVC teams.

Closely ranked by Versus sim data with us and and NDSU. While I think we will beat them, it could be a real dogfight. Somehow their coach has turned things around quickly from last year. We *might* blow them out, it’s hard to know until we face them. NDSU and Elon are now my top two concerns in all of FCS.

UNH may be in bad shape if their QB is done for the season.

Unh isn’t beating Elon. I think the Phoenix will be 7-0 in caa play coming into our game.
Achilles injury so he is done.
Elon is very good. Much respect to what they have done so far. We are at a different level in the CAA and in FCS. There is quite a divide between 1, 2 and the rest of the field in FCS.

Any of the Dakota's would be difficult.

Pretty surprising IMO 3 of the 4 best 1AA teams are in the Dakota's.
Because JMU will be playing on the road against Elon, and it will be for the CAA title and a top playoff seed, our team better be ready for a real fight. Elon remembers being humiliated year after year after year by JMU, and the Phoenix will be looking for payback and to make a statement to the rest of the FCS world.

Any JMU fan who thinks the Dukes will have a cake-walk down there better think again. It will be a real struggle to win, and I hope our players don’t look past RU and get upset by the ticks before we have a chance to finish the regular season undefeated.
Just watched the CAA highlights on twitter. I think the biggest difference between JMU and the rest of the CAA is solid tackling. Soooooo many highlights in the video were due to poor tackling.

I agree with you. Houston will have the guys ready as he always does. This team has proven time and again they are laser-focused. In truth, I'm actually very pleased that Elon will be a good test for our guys and not a pushover game as they've been in the past. I'm happy for the Elon folks and their program. It is good for the CAA if we have a game of undefeateds (in the CAA) playing for a conference title. We very likely have the following week off. Our guys can get a playoff type game and atmosphere kind of thing heading into that bye week. If we didn't have the following week off, I might want a 51-0 type of game so we can rest our starters in the 2nd half. So, let's just go out and beat the hell out of Elon and do it anyway.

Yet every team we play tackles pretty well, at least enough to keep us from huge TD plays. I was thinking about it and am struggling to think of many home run (probably 30-40+ yard) scores by our offense in caa play.

JMU is the #1 team. You know everyone brings their best effort against us and tackling is about desire and effort.

Yep, while we aren't blowing teams out, this is what it's like when every single team has you as their biggest game of the year. I think we can plow through it but the injuries are starting to get concerning. It's hard to win ANY game with the target on your back.

And we have reduce our misdirection plays, which leads to tacklers having a more solid bead on ballcarriers
It is very smart of the coaching staff not to show every play we have in playbook. Every team we play in the playoff will be scouting our games and getting tapes of them. If we showed every play we have we might as well put our playbook online for every one to see. This great coaching.
Has anyone already started looking into tickets to this game?
Have already bought my tickets for the game!!!!!
