Iowa State 14, TCU 7. TCU’s only score came on a KO return.
There goes the Big XII playoff hopes
Sigh we used to could compete with northwestern, do our folks in charge think that scene after game is priceless advertising, or do they hate the thought of that?
UH beats ranked USF on the road.

Lolololol

After watching this game, I'm officially an Iowa State fan. Upsets over TCU and Ohlahoma. Watching the Iowa State crowd rush the field at the end of the game was kinda cool. They've been the conference doormats for so long. I hope they win the Big XII
Ohio State overcame an opening kickoff retiurn, some early turnovers and a VERY controversial overturned interception in the end zone, which instead was ruled a Penn State TD...and an 11 point 4th Quarter deficit to beat Penn State 39 - 38 (after failing on two 3-point conversions in the fourth). JT Barrett completed his last 16 passes to spearhead the comeback. OSU dominated in the stat sheet-- doubling PSU's total yardage...and OSU's highly regarded DL finally played up to their hype in the 4th quarter.

ISU has been my second favorite team, after Rice, for a while now. Youngest son married an ISU grad. She’s gone, but son and grandsons remain Cycone fans, so me too. I hope they continue to do well.

I agree with the announcers that it was not pass interference at all. But it was NOT ruled a Penn State touchdown, Walt.

Rather, the PI penalty was assessed, giving Penn State excellent field position and it led to a Nittany Lion TD. But the ruling itself was a PI penalty, not a PSU TD.

Definitely a heck of a comeback by Barrett and OSU.
Top 4 is an all SEC/Big 10 affair. Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Wisconsin

Amazed that Stanford is ranked #18 after barely beating 1-7 Oregon State. Wow.

Wisconsin is way overranked. Penn State would blow them off the field, and I think Michigan State would beat them, as well. Who exactly have they beaten?

As for Stanford, Love did not play as they were holding him out (he could have played) for the upcoming games against Wazzou and Washington. On multiple runs where Scarlett got 9 - 11 yards, Love would have broken for touchdown runs. Scarlett is good, but he doesn't have the downfield vision that Love has, nor the explosiveness, and seems to make only one cut when carrying the ball.

Nobody. They have a cupcake schedule. Michigan is the only team that will be a challenge. Remaining games are @Indiana, vs Iowa, vs Michigan and @Minnesota.

I sort of agree. Their schedule is not loaded with world beaters. They don’t play OSU this year. Their OOC schedule had Southern Utah and BYU. PSU had Akron and Pitt.
Neither team had much choice in who they played.
To me Wisconsin is sort of a mystery team this year. They’ve been a top tier team the past few years. I wouldn’t discount them just because of their schedule.

True. They haven't set the world on fire either though. They beat NW by 9, Purdue by 8 and Illinois by 14. Illinois is 2-6, winning 17-9 doesn't inspire confidence.

I don't doubt that Wisconsin is a good team. Just unsure if they are a top 4 worthy team. Massey puts them at #7.
I have Wisconsin at #6.

Their schedule, using my ranking:

Wisconsin 59, #89 Utah State 10
Wisconsin 31, #55 Florida Atlantic 14
Wisconsin 40, @#111 BYU 6
Wisconsin 33, #31 Northwestern 24
Wisconsin 38, @#53 Nebraska 17
Wisconsin 17, #62 Purdue 9
Wisconsin 38, #49 Maryland 13
Wisconsin 24, @#93 Illinois 10

Pretty pathetic for a Top 10 ranked team. Not a single team ranked inside the Top 30. I'm betting every other team in the Top 10 have played at least one, if not multiple Top 25 teams.

Almost all. Alabama is the other exception

From Massey (team, number of games against top 25)

1. Alabama - 0. Best win is #38 FSU
2. Notre Dame - 5. 4 wins and 1 Loss (to UGA)
3. Georgia - 1. ND
4. Clemson - 4
5. Penn State - 2
6. Ohio State - 2
7. Wisconsin - 0
8. OU - 3
9. Miami - 1
10. VT - 1

Best win for Alabama is #35 Texas A&M. Massey is an outlier with respect to Florida State. I have them at #75.

Miami's best win is against #26 Toledo.

Interesting. I was surprised they were ranked so high.. but I don't have much insight/ ability to cross reference except for my own eye-test.. and FSU didn't seem 38th.

Also cross checking Massey aTm is ranked one spot higher than FSU. So Alabama's best win should be #37 aTm above.

Massey has Miami's best win as #22 Georgia Tech.

Yes, but Alabama has three Top 25 teams remaining on their regular season schedule (LSU, Miss St., Auburn); whereas Wisconsin is going to go through their entire regular season schedule without playing a single Top 30 club...and they haven't exactly looked impressive in several of those wins.
Bumping for this week vs a new thread.

aTm up on #14 Auburn.

Baylor leading Kansas for what they hope is their first victory
