I'm thinking about it. My normal Monarch crew is not able to make it it seems. Charleston is a beautiful coastal city, a fun place, and drivable... pretty much the opposite of the CUSA tournament. Hard to turn down the opportunity to see the Monarchs play some good competition.
The fact that we have Rice at home for the last football game is one strike against it.
Billy and I plus another couple (the dancing guy from behind the bench at the TED) and his wife.
We're staying at the Hyatt Place which is the headquarters for the tourney.
Can't wait for some mustard BBQ and the new edition monarchs!
Poogans Porch and the Gin Joint. Thank me later.
My wife has never yet been to Charleston. Add two adopted fans.
If you want a delicious dinner and are willing to drop a little coin, I recommend eating at Husk. It's one of the best places I've ever eaten at.
Fleets Landing is good. I love the apricot basted flounder. Good view of river too.
I'm going, bought my game tickets on Wednesday.
For those on the fence, all-session sideline tickets sold out 2 weeks ago (which shocked me for an early season tournament). Baseline seats and afternoon session sideline seats still available. Our first two games will be afternoon games.
I plan to make the trip plus friends. Also looking forward to our new look team. Let's go Monarchs!
Agree on Fleet Landing, very good and they have a solid Happy Hour to.
For lunch and breakfast, check out the Brown Dog Deli. Locals hangout in French Qtr. Great menu, excellent prices, cool atmosphere and the best Cuba north of Havana.
Did everyone get an email from ODAF wanting to know who was going to Charleston, phone number/email and preferred notification form and which hotel?
I hoped they follow thru with letting us know about get-togethers and hopefully football watch party.
We're going - Monarx, you can hang with us if you decide to go! I got the email from ODAF and responded. I'm also hoping they arranging a football game viewing party.
