He Made More of His Shots Last Year Than Anyone. Now Devontae Cacok Wants You to Know His Name

Twice in conversation, Cacok mentions making a name for himself. McGrath wishes more people knew who he was, but both acknowledge that it’s tough for a mid-major player to get widespread attention, especially without a deep tournament run. But McGrath also knows this: in his 22 years with both Kansas and North Carolina, no player—Brice Johnson, Tyler Hansbrough, Sean May or anyone else—has ever received a plaque from the NCAA indicating that they led the country in a statistical category.
Nice article.

I'm impressed by much about Cacock, but I am particularly impressed by how wise he is.
The season can't get here soon enough.
I just love this guy. My son thinks the world of him and so do I! Great team guy too!!
For old times sake...

He has also led the team in prayer before meals since he arrived. LEADER.

That's awesome. Didn't know that!
Love that about him! God gives us gifts and our gift back is to use our gifts to glorify him! Great to hear!! I hope that he stay injury free for the year.
Cacok had 230 attempts last season. The CAA season field goal percentage record with at least 300 attempts is by UNCW's Matt Fish in 1991-1992. As of after 2012-2013, the CAA career field goal percentage record with at least 250 makes is by UNCW's Vladimir Kuljanin. Unfortunately I don't have newer information. The required amount of attempts and makes came from the CAA, not me.
