So I was thinking about the Scott Frost to Nebraska rumors and was curious to know what would it take. Lucky me, I saw an article from Saturday Tradition : B1G football coaches buyouts (using info from USA Today for all coaches).

Mike Riley may be the most likely to get the boot but here are other coaches hiring date (1st season), pay and buyouts.

2017
Indiana - Tom Allen, $1.83 million, $2.5 million
Minnesota - P.J. Fleck, $3.5 million, $9.583 million
Purdue - Jeff Brohm, $3.333 million, $15.844 million

2016
Illinois - Lovie Smith, $3 million, $16.5 million
Maryland - DJ Durkin, $2.462 million, $6.833 million
Rutgers - Chris Ash, $2.1 million, $7.425 million

2015
Michigan - Jim Harbaugh, $7 million, $20 Million
Nebraska - Mike Riley, $2.9 million, $6.63 million
Wisconsin - Paul Chryst, $3.2 million, $4 million

2014
Penn State - James Franklin, $4.6 million, $21.858 million

2012
Ohio State - Urban Meyer, $6.4 million, $20 Million

2007
Michigan State - Mark Dantonio, $4.38 million, $7 million

2006
Northwestern - Pat Fitzgerald, $3.305 million, no buyout given

1999
Iowa - Kirk Ferentz, $4.55 million, $22.537 million

For Nebraska...it wouldn't be terrible but $6.63 million isn't pocket change. As for Illinois, OMG what the heck. Not that I thought they'd fire him this year but DANG (!) $16.5 million. Holy crap are they screwed. I'm curious to know about how Iowa fans feel about Ferentz. I hope they like him because it looks like he might be there a while. Does anyone else stick out far y'all?
I'm surprised Mark Dantonio is only $7 million. Not cheap but the big programs like Florida, Texas A&M, and Auburn may be tempted to try to lure him away. I imagine he's where he wants to be or else I think he would have left long ago but you never know unless you ask.

It is my opinion that Mark Dantonio will retire from Michigan State or take some job in the AD's office at some point. He does not appear to be money driven.
