really proud to be a fan of this team.

so many guys have stepped up. so many backups were well coached and ready. there has been adaptation, not panic, with major injuries. lots of young guys playing solid snaps with confidence. and the team gets getting better. it has been fun to watch. and I'm excited for the rest of the year
Which of the true freshmen have played this year?

Drew Rosi and Bryce Mitchell have some catches.
Saw Tycen Anderson in on Saturday.

I'm assuming there are more?
Mitch Berg I think has played on the o-line...
Tycen Anderson looks like a beast out there. Didn't have a program and didn't recognize who #15 was. He is good size for d-back. May outgrow the d-back or will become a free safety. Don't believe he is only 185# on a 6'2" frame unless he is hollow. If he is - then he has an NFL body in development.
Anybody else noticing how good our d-line will be next year? We have a lot of big athletic young guys on the D-line getting a lot of playing time - and they are doing a great job. This defense will continue to improve as these freshman and sophomores are effectively sophs and juniors by the end of the year when it is crunch time for the championship. All of the guys listed as DE or DL are playing significant amounts of time in each game. The freshman being redshirted all have good size and will get bigger with a year in the weight room.

Except for the very big question mark at QB, I think next year's team will be better than this year's team. Maybe we get a graduate transfer if Guadagni is not the answer. I was also expecting big things out of Eli Peters. He is 4th string this year and has not played after being a top level recruit out of Florida picked up by Illinois. I suppose that is not uncommon with a lot of very good HS players not transforming well to the D-1 football level. Shows his size as 6'2" and 200. If he can't run all that well, he would need a phenomenal arm to make it in the MAC. Guadagni looks to have great wheels, but we haven't seen him throwing the ball all that much. Hopefully learning a lot by watching Woodside's approach to game prep and work ethic.
The team like it will be strong for the next two or three years at least. I like the depth and young talent we seem to have. Just hope someone is capable of stepping up to fill Woodshoe's role at QB.

I'm really excited to watch Anderson progress through the years. He's played every game so far on special teams and even some time on defense. A DB with great size is rare in the MAC.

DB Victor Williams was Special Teams POW vs. Akron...6'5" 325 lb. DL Tyrone Chambers saw action for the first time vs. Akron.

Same Bryce Mitchell. How the heck do these guys launch bodies that big so far in the long jump? I expected tallish, skinny guys. These puppies learn some playbook and route running (and we do have coaches good on that) how the heck is a corner going to match up with that?

A typical WR matching up on Anderson is going to think easy separation. He's going to find that Hulk Smash also means Hulk fast. Still would lke to see a game with them on opposite sides of the OL in redzone.

Just in general, the WRs were making some difficult catches, particularly they sustained some of those first few drives.

One of the best called games I've seen in many years, meaning mostly when I tried to predict the next play, it wasn't and it worked. Kudos to the play calling.

Injured: might make a cool poster, having them all lined up on the sideline in their various in boots, casts and chairs. It is what it is, might as well roll with it. Be a good ad for the Medical or Sports Training school. You supply the patients, we supply the doctors.
O-Line & D-Line coach deserve a lot of credit...both are down a number of starters / back-up's and the next guys up are proving to be ready to go.

Victor Williams has been playing, and was selected special teams MVP by the coaches against Akron. Flint is true freshman. Sam Womack saw some action at DB in clean up duty against Akron. I don't think Berg has played. Doerger saw some time at the end against Akron, but he's a redshirt freshman.

Looked like they had him playing Safety
robinson is a rs frosh starting at db. chambers has played a few games but is slow off the snap. if they can get him down 10-20 lbs and playing a little faster and lower he will be a factor on the interior. where did womack come from? ross and matthews looking better each game at DT
Rosi has looked real good blocking, especially for a true frosh. The couple of catches he has had are gravy, and keep the defenses honest.
