You clearly don't get it.

No, the idiots in that pic are the ones who don't. Its not wise to piss off the people who pay your salary. Then again, these guys don't look like the sharpest knives in the drawer either.

Thanks for offering your opinion from your cushy ivory tower where the issues don't effect you.

The issues don't affect you either. yet here you are desperately trying to look concerned for the oppressed millionares playing a game.

---

Tom, your point was that liberal cities finance stadiums and you are correct.

Yes, the idea that if liberal cities revolted against the NFL that the suburbs wouldn't fund stadiums hasn't been fully tested.

But it seems ludicrous to assume it would be disastrous for the NFL if African-Americans and liberal in cities didn't fund stadiums.

And don't fvcking put quote marks around things I didn't say.

I was just pointing out that the suburban financed stadiums you appeared to be referring to, really weren't financed in a 'suburban' manner (or in the case of PGC - isn't suburban in any real sense). Most of them were highly subject to urban voters (Maricopa County, Foxborough, and Prince Georges County).

You're right, it hasn't been fully tested. But remember, that suburban conservative areas generally don't have the borrowing/taxing capacity to finance stadiums like urban areas do. Nor do many of them have the business community needed to support a NFL team either.

Heck, Broward County barely can support its one pro team and they have millions of people.

Non-urban financed NFL stadiums are currently co-ops, 44 years old, privately financed, or located in Silicon Valley.

----

But that misses the largest tranche of NFL income....must take cable TV revenue from urban market viewers. This is where the NFL has to be real careful.

Then perhaps they should actually be out in "their communities" - nevermind that not a one of them actually lives in such communities - doing something real rather than safely exercising their rights to free speech in symbolic gestures.

LOL. Kim Davis can use the power of the state to discriminate in direct violation of her job description and a court order and she's a hero....but a NFL player cannot even signal disapproval of racism/Trump.

Of course Kim Davis is white, so she apparently can do what she wants at work.

If employees must do their jobs, then why have these bills allowing county clerks, hospital workers, doctors, pharmacists, and hospitals to not serve LGBT persons?

Oh yea, employees have the right to do what they want at work, even in the face of employer opposition, but only if that employee is being a racist or a homophobe. Got it.

They arent protesting for themselves. They are using their platform to stand up for people with no voice. Asking for Americans to be treated like Americans isn't anti American

Oh? Then why weren't they kneeling en masse PRIOR to Trump saying anything?

Of course some players are just kneeling in protest of Trump but the true protest started before Trump was even in office.

I hate that the actual point of the protest has been lost and the attention is on a piece of cloth, a song and now a man

Yet there your guys are focusing on a piece of cloth and a song. I said from day one they were doing their cause a disservice by their actions, their efforts would have been better expended protesting in the communities, like outside a particular precinct or at city hall, where their perceived injustices actually occurred.

I'm good with that. We can also extend it to college and high school sports too. Let them all stand on their own, or do it within some very strict subsidy guidelines. No more 75 million dollar high school stadiums. No more school district paid six figure coaching salaries. No more thousand dollar student subsidies so State U can pay a football conditioning coach 600 grand a year.

No more cable must take contracts either.

Let them pay their own way.
