Quote from article:
EAST
1. Florida (6-2 in SEC, 9-3 overall)
2. Tennessee (6-2, 9-3)
3. Georgia (5-3, 9-3)
4. South Carolina (2-6, 6-6)
5. Kentucky (2-6, 6-6)
6. Vanderbilt (0-8, 2-10)
WEST
1. Auburn (7-1 in SEC, 11-1 overall)
2. LSU (6-2, 10-2)
3. Alabama (5-3, 9-4)
4. Ole Miss (4-4, 8-4)
5. Arkansas (4-4, 7-5)
6. Mississippi State (1-7, 4-8)
Well, I hardly ever agree with sportswriter's predictions, usually because they almost always are way off the mark, and this is no different.
The East is pretty close to my prediction.....except I would have UGA and Florida swap places, and UK and VU. I don't see anyone beating UGA this season, UT will fight for it but come up short. And Florida basically sucks now, compared to Spurrier's regime. So I would have
1.UGA
2.UT
3.USC
3.UF...tie
5.Vandy
6.UK
The West, as always, will be a toss up. There is just way too much parity on the West. But, based on my feelings and based on schedules, and a huge case of homerism, here goes.....
1.Ole Miss
2.Auburn
3.Bama
4.LSU
5.Arkie
6.MSU
And UGA will beat Ole Miss in Atlanta, much like they man-handled Arkansas last season.
However, as I've said before, any of the six West teams could wind up winning the West, with the slight exclusion of MSU. I think they need to can Jackie and start off anew. Not discounting MSU as a program, just Jackie. He has been great for them over the years, in fact, the best they've had but his time is about up I think. But the other 5 could finish in a plethora of rankings, in any order. That's just my shot at it.
That's just my prediction, and it means about as much as this writer's predictions.....very little.
