No $hit..... right now we are playing these teams to help recruiting, get experience and cash a big paycheck......
So.... don't waste your ink telling us what we already know...... we are babies in football and we are taking baby steps..... deal with it.
to me it's a lazy story.
2 years ago we lost to App State in a shut out and 31-7 last year. 38-0 to VT is progress I guess. I thought we competed well in the first quarter and then the defense just wore out.
We played well for about an 1/3 of the game. They made adjustments and cruised to what we thought would happen. Really no story.
Someone on the offense needs to step up. The line needs to open some holes and the receivers need to get open. Very few open receivers all day. A few, but not many. I thought Stevie played pretty well, everyone else on offense, not so much. My 2 cents.
We played a top defense on the road with a 17 year old QB without our best 2 offensive weapons. I was hoping we would move it a little more but our WRs just couldnt do anything vs that secondary and when they did, they dropped the ball. It only gets better from here. Loved what i saw from Williams. I would be surprised if we arent a bowl team again.
Cox is obviously playing with something. Thought our other RBs were much quicker to the hole.

Right now the headline is "Virginia Tech rolls over ODU in first meeting between the schools", at least on the website.
Guessing the print headline will also thread the needle, since there's obviously lots of Virginia Tech fans in the readership.

So at what point do we cease to be babies? Because it's getting old watching us get destroyed by every Power 5 team we play.

Babies steps. How is it UTSA is younger than us and they were more competitive against Power 5 teams and beat up on Baylor?
Baylor is a POS P5 in turmoil. I guaran-f'n-tee you we would have been more competitive vs Baylor than vs VT.

We should NOT be satisfied with being #5 in the state. The University is so tight with funding and is risk adverse. The new stadium should have been built by now. We should have had an indoor football practice facility and built a better Basketball practice facility. People will say a University is not about sports it is about academics. Well that too is headed in the wrong direction because ODU is not getting the funding from the state we need.
I would like to see an article in the paper about why JMU, VT, and UVA have virtually NO diversity. Did anyone notice that at VT yesterday? All these beautiful facilities, virtually no diversity in the student body or in the stands, yet top minority players want to play at these schools. ODU looks like the state of Va. Yet our academic and athletic facilities are very lacking, we don't get the funding from the state we should, and I will add our academic profile is headed in the wrong direction. Why is this ?
JMU is terrible at diversity. My daughter graduated there six years ago I was totally shock at the lack of diversity. Currently black students make up 4% of the student population at JMU. In our state, JMU is not a good example of diversity.
Even UVa is 31% minority.
