Wow, this could get interesting. http://www.citronresearch.com/citron-exp...-networks/

CITRON EXPOSES UBIQUITI NETWORKS
THEY DIDN’T WANT CITRON TO EXPOSE ANOTHER FRAUD, SO GUESS WHAT WE’RE GOING TO DO?? EXPOSE ANOTHER FRAUD

"Does Ubiquiti Networks (NASDAQ:UBNT) actually have real products that sell to consumers? Of course! So did Valeant and WorldCom, but that does not stop its financials from having every indication of being completely fraudulent. Citron will detail a series of alarming red flags and detail how Ubiquiti Networks is deceiving the investing public."

The October buy/sell showdown could get pretty interesting: https://www.theringer.com/nba/2017/9/7/1...-ownership

"In October, Grizzlies minority owners Steve Kaplan and Daniel Straus are eligible to purchase control from majority owner Robert Pera, as outlined in an ESPN report two springs ago. Why October? Kaplan and Straus will have the option thanks to a “buy/sell” clause that the stakeholders agreed to when they purchased the franchise in October 2012."
Quote:CONCLUSION
The end is now for the Ubiquiti Fraud. What was once a company with unique products in a fragmented space has turned into a company that sells products in highly competitive markets where they are the last mover. The holes in their story are expanding daily and it is only time before the SEC launches the formal investigation and Ubiquiti will go down in infamy amongst the many other Wall Street Frauds.

Quote:**** For anyone who reads this report and still thinks that Robert Pera could be the best CEO in networking hardware, we encourage you to watch this new video of Pera introducing Ubiquiti’s new FrontRow camera. This video is more valuable than anything we can write

Wow, that is weird. I hope this is untrue 03-shhhh

One of the best ways to run a scam is to say you are doing most of your business 'over seas' - it makes it harder to trace.
So we are having a battle between owners of the Griz. What if neither party is able to raise enough revenue to buy out the other??? Who will the other minority owners side with in this battle?
Pera Responds:

Ubiquiti Networks (NASDAQ: UBNT) CEO Robert Pera on twitter responded following a critical report by short seller Citron Research. Pera said he will let products and numbers speak for themselves and apologizes to those affected by "these clowns.'

I always wondered if ubiquiti was a front for something.

Remember when Pera was buying the Grizzlies and it came out that the company had connections with the Chinese mob?
My concern is that the SEC is very similar to the IRS in one way. They have the power to freeze your assets and holdings while the investigation is going on without any evidence of wrong doing..
Just remember that Citron will make millions by making $UBNT price go down even 5%. They might be right about Ubiquiti but its not like they are an independent arbiter. They are short sellers with a huge amount of put options on $UBNT.

I don't know if Citron is right or not, but if it is fact that they are willing to put money behind their claims, as you say, that makes me more likely to believe them than less.

Madoff, Enron, Worldcomm . . . stock and company collapses started with lone analysts actually putting in the work and saying something is not right here.

Analyst downgrades bring momentary stock declines all the time in all types of companies. The fact this Citron claim came right after the September options expiration would lead me to believe that they needed some people to sell the news after taking a hit. Who knows. It could be Ubiquiti is a fraud. But the timing is suspicious to me.

I understand. But would Citron trade their reputation for a short term profit? I don't think so. I'm not saying Citron is correct, but I am saying that Citron is sincere that they think Ubiquiti is cooking the books. Time will tell.

Their report about Ubiquiti is pretty much in line with what they do. They came out with a negative report on Nvidia in the summer, Intel earlier this year, Bitcoin Investment Trust last week. Last year, Express Scripts was hit really hard by a few tweets from Citron right before the December expirations.

Big difference this time is that Robert Pera called Andrew Left an idiot on Twitter and made it a much bigger story.

I get it, that's what Citron does. But it's not the first time analysts have questioned Ubiquiti's biz model.

Dont disagree. $UBNT is a strange company and they have had corporate governance issues in the past. And Citron may be right. However, the market has stabilized since the initial fall. Actually gained back almost 3% yesterday. A lot of that is due to JP Morgan upgrading Ubiquiti to Overweight and New Amsterdam Partners buying a larger stake. That tells me that Institutional investors are buying the dip of the price.
Citron did it to Shopify yesterday. Released a report calling them a fraud with very little if any evidence. Stock went down 11%. Just happened that Citron did it 2 days before the October 6 option expiration. I'm sure they didnt make any money off that.
