OK, so make that Rutgers to CUSA.
couple BB games might get AAC Rutgers & Nebraska
Lol
What a waste of everything as far as Rutgers goes.
I'll pass on Rutgers.
We're trying to improve.
No. Just no
Rutgers is like that one that got by on nepotism.

I'll go with:

1. Investment in FB facilities - 54k Stadium for FB and inside practice bubble. Willing to pay decent salaries for coaches.

2. Great Academics - Undergrad and Grad - also a great Research University, has a Law School, and has a Medical School.

3. TV Market - NYC and NJ

4. Good Olympic sports and good investment for their facilities. Men's BB struggles at this time though yet.

5. Nepotism if you want to call it that. - Great scheduling relationship Penn State, Indiana, Michigan State, and Illinois for years prior to B-10 inclusion.

6. Rutgers work for years to get in to the B-10 by improving all of the above and working under the radar with B-10 officials for years to make those facilities improvements, dotting their i's and crossing their t's. It's called having vision, a mission, investment, and hard work to accomplish a goal rather than sitting around and "just hoping" to get picked up by the big boys one day.

Yawn, Rutgers sucks. They have no business in a conference better than the ACC, which is what the Big East used be.
Rutgers got into the Big 10 only because there are so many Penn St, Michigan, Ohio st., Michigan State, Northwestern alums living in NY, NJ.
For decades nobody was tuning into Rutgers games. They had a couple good years under Schiano...then crap in the AAC. Then they and Maryland (another crap FB team) get picked up for a market saturated with Big 10 alumni.
Overall B1G football standings (reg.-season, conference games only) since Rutgers joined for the 2014 season:

Ohio State (23-2)
Wisconsin (20-5)
Iowa (18-7)
Michigan (16-9)
Michigan State (15-10)
Nebraska (14-11)
Northwestern (14-11)
Penn State (14-11)
Minnesota (12-13)
Maryland (8-17)
Illinois (7-18)
Indiana (7-18)
Rutgers (4-21)
Purdue (3-22)

Overall B1G MBB standings (reg.-season, conference games only) since Rutgers joined for the 2014-15 season:

Wisconsin (40-14)
Maryland (38-16)
Purdue (38-16)
Michigan State (35-19)
Iowa (34-20)
Indiana (31-23)
Ohio State (29-25)
Michigan (28-26)
Northwestern (24-30)
Illinois (22-32)
Minnesota (19-35)
Nebraska (17-37)
Penn State (17-37)
Rutgers (6-48)

Edit: knowing that Tulane's athletic performance has been similar, I'll cut to the chase and agree that Rutgers and Tulane have both sucked at football/MBB for a long time, and neither has shown what it takes to compete in B1G.

Well credit to Maryland they actually look to be a decent football team for once.

Houston has been in serious conversations about NY6 and playoffs several times over the last few years. Has Rutgers?

Always the bridesmaid, never the bride....All your serious conversation, and you're still sitting in the AAC. But seriously, Rutgers is in your heads, let us go, we certainly have let you all go.....
