Thanks! So they moved the FSU game to Oct 7th. They will be well rested for us. Let's hope they are rusty!
Who is (was?) planning on attending this game? I booked my flight months ago, have a hotel and rental car booked (with free cancellation). But I am wondering what shape the city will be in in 2 weeks. How will hotel and rental car availability be?
If the game is held and I had a ticket and time off, I'd recommend going regardless the shape of the city, hotel or car rental availability. There will be someplace to stay and someway to get around and the business dollars will help them. Might even try to find a way to make myself useful for a few days. A life experience. An opportunity to help. A good game. Lots of win in just going regardless.
For that matter, might even be a good opportunity for the team to get in a bit of goodwill time, maybe help out a bit. Hopefully the damage isn't so sustained the place won't recover quickly. Some of those Caribbean islands though....
I can't fly down until that morning. I'm planning to go unless Miami is is still flooded or in really bad shape. The UT alumni association set aside some rooms. They posted that info on this message board last week. It might be worth a look.
Any idea if there will be any televison coverage, even if it just ESPN#?
...ESPN3
I rented a house down there and haven't heard of it suffered damage. I think we have 9 of us going
I'll be there.

After something like this hurricane, two weeks is not very long, really. It seems like Miami could be back open for business, but probably not back to normal yet.

I would take a couple extra bags of ice and a chainsaw. But, that's just me. 03-wink

I hope enterprise honors my initial rental fee because rates just skyrocketed to $1000 for the weekend

says game is on a regional sport network (RSN) which for Florida means Fox Sun or Fox Florida but when I go to their site it shows game will be on the ACC Network which usually sells it's games to RSNs and also has them on WatchESPN and ESPN3. Likely, if you have direct Tv or Dish and a big sports package you can find it. I do usually get a saturday ACC RSN game picked up by a network station on my local cable package and I'm nowhere near ACC country so hoping I luck into the Rockets on the 23rd.
There are eight of us coming down from Ohio and got all of our flights booked and an AirBnB a while back. We also haven't heard about the status of the place which to me, is probably good news. All green lights to go at this point, just need to scoop up some tickets on StubHub.
Just booked a flight with two friends. I can't wait!
I'll be there with my wife and my father. GO ROCKETS!!!
