#7 - Georgia State

POSITIVES: For a couple of seasons Jeremy Hollowell has been shooting the lion's share of GSU's shots, even though he did not necessarily make very many of them. Thus they had a 6-8 player who did not rebound very well, and was shooting but did not shoot very well. Maybe this will be a case of addition by subtraction. The good news is that three starters return who should be ready to move into the void. D'Marcus Simonds averaged 13.4 ppg, and he did it by shooting considerably better than Hollowell. The Panthers have adequate size. Malik Benlevi is an accurate 3-point shooter who hopefully will get more chances to shoot. The Panthers should have their customary tight defense.

NEGATIVES: Hollowell is gone. For better or for worse, that still means a huge adjustment for this team. The pecking order has to change, and that can sometimes be a problem. GSU's A/TO ratio was not good last season, and needs to improve.

My feeling is that this team is better off without Hollowell, and could be one of the surprises in the league this season as the other players step forward. I am only putting them seventh, because from here on up the competition gets tougher; but they could finish much higher.
