WMU didn't go anywhere.
Their running game is going to be hard to stop!
I think what is impressive is their defense. I didn't watch, but looking at the stats it looks like they went toe-to-toe with #4 USC until mid-way into the 4th quarter. Both teams had some big plays. USC just had more. Doggone impressive.
AND... their new QB amassed 67 yards passing!
Stopping the run and 3rd down defense will be the difference this year. If we are solid, we win the MACC. If not, we continue to be perennial bridesmaids.
WMU Rushing for 263 against a strong front 7 at USC is very impressive. The game this year, as last year, will pit our greatest weakness against their greatest strength. Right now, WMU looks to be the favorite to win the MACC.
Yeh - I saw that score and some video of the game. They had the cupboards filled pretty well by Fleck. All we can hope is that the QB does not develop as a passer and we can put 8 in the box to stop the run.

I guess I felt pretty good about the D-backs in the Elon game. Not that the QB's were very good - but they pressed the receivers at the line and had pretty good coverage on them for the most part. Hoping that Poteet is giving them some NFL wisdom and coaching them to play the position aggressively.

WMU was more a more balance attack with an All American WR. Force them to pass the FB. Pressure the QB then. I like our CB play so far. UT has soft middle Defensively, needs to be fixed. Against the Rockets tried to force the run game(probably scripted) early without taking advantage of what was being given.
