Game 1: Arkansas vs Florida A&M and of course a few non conference games tonight as well.
Come on hogs finish them early

Well, they didn't finish them early, but then Florida A&M was never really in the game. Still, I thought it was a fine opener for the Hogs. There didn't seem to be any key injuries and the offense started to hit it's stride by the kick of the 2nd half.

All in all it's an A- of an opener. But, in the modern era of football that's pretty danged good!
The running game looked very strong.
Not very many competitive games tonight.

I was hoping Indiana would upset the buckeyes, but OSU pulled away in the second half

I was happy the defense looked good. We'll find out more next week
I'm looking forward to seeing how Kentucky looks @ Southern Miss.

FSU v Bama is one heck of a way to start a season. I'll wish the Noles luck since I don't think that the Tide will need it.

So the refs nullify a Missouri TD because Crockett dove into the end zone? Even if it was the correct call, why wasn't the penalty enforced on the kickoff. Even the SEC analysts were clueless as to why that happened. Locke, the QB, looks like he is figuring this all out. Defense needs an extra day of practice this week.04-jawdrop

The Crockett TD was BS. You could tell he was just diving because of being gassed from a long run. Also. If Mizzou doesn't fix that defense. It will be a long season.
Maryland has been beating Texas almost the entire game. Is Tom Herman overrated or is it too early to judge?

Because actions to self aggrandize are a point of emphasis by the NCAA and the rule was changed so that on a scoring play the score would be negated and the penalty enforced from the spot of the foul. I thought it was cheesy too, but that is the new rule. And another one that's going to cost some ball games is that a D lineman can't hit a QB below the knew while he is planted to throw. So if a lineman is blocked to the ground he can't lung at the QB's legs.

Texas just stinks!
A very nice win for the Gamecocks! Kudos!

Florida stunk it up and Michigan wasn't that impressive.

Georgia is struggling early.

Kentucky is leading by 7 with 5 minutes to play in Hattiesburg.

Dominating win for Miss State!
Bama has looked good overall. The offense is really shaky though. If it weren't for so many mistakes on FSU's part, this could have been a different game.

It's not over yet, but I feel good at this point.
And I hope Francois isn't seriously injured. He's a heck of a player.

He's a good coach but I do believe he's a bit overrated. Giving up 51 at home to anyone is hard to wrap your head around

I know Saban wasn't happy with everything, but it was more of a dominating win than the score reveals. Bama left a lot of points on the field. F.S.U., not so much.
Congratulations to Vanderbilt, Missouri (for their second half defensive effort) and their stellar offense, and to Ole Miss. Aggies 7 UCLA 3 in the 1st Quarter.
A&M looking good so far. If they keep playing this physical then they should be good.
